For that price you could have almost bought a 4090

Yeah... that's way too close to a 4090, I really recommend returning it or canceling your order if it hasn't arrived yet.

where are these mythical 4090s for 1449? apples and oranges, water cooled and warrantied vs an air cooled nvidia. Many people do not care for nvidia products too.

There are $1600 models in some places, it depends on where in the world you are. For example where I am these ones have always been available in-store because no one wants that specific model, which is roughly $1680 USD, with the cheapest model (which I'd pick over that Gigabyte one) being about $1637.

As much ire as I have for nVidia, given the choice between a $1449 7900 XTX Aqua, or that cheapest 4090 for $1637, I'd definitely go with the 4090 for $188 more. That's ~13% of the price of the Aqua for much more performance.

And if you're wondering what I bought for myself, I picked this 7900 XTX as it was the only AIB model available to back order (still is). I ordered it a full month ago and there's no sign of it, and every day it takes to arrive is another day where I'm thinking about canceling the order and getting a refund because ALL the prices are utter insanity. I wouldn't have ordered it if my 3080 wasn't worth so much to sell locally.

Nah, I have a 4090 suprim liquid x so I don’t need a this or that I have both. The fastest 4090 and fastest 7900xtx

You can not tell Nvidia fanboys this. They act like the 7900xtx is only as fast a 3070. Ray Tracing is still over rated as hell anyways.
Add a good block to a 4090, and guess what your not that close in price vs this.

Why are your comments always dumb? Fanboy this fanboy that.

A stock 4090 FE sits in the 60s at stock while being fairly quiet. There's no need for a waterblock.

For most people, a 4090 is a much smarter buy. For only 10% more money over this model you are 40-50% faster. In ray traced titles it can be 100% faster while being way more power efficient.

Then that comment is more directed to people who are thinking about paying $1500 for a 7900XTX.

And surpim x isn't the best, a strix is faster out of the box with equal cooling power.

A stock card with a waterblock slapped on would work a lot better if you're looking for the 'best'.

Honestly this is one of the dumbest posts i've heard in awhile.

The statement was: For the price that the guy posted, a 4090 is a better value, that is factual, in every scenario for the price difference, the 4090 will be a better value.

That is factual and it is all that it is.

If anything you were the one bringing (or continuing, since the guy you quoted literally stated "Many people do not care for nvidia products too.") any fanboyism or anti-ism to this topic, talking about ray tracing when it wasn't brought up and claiming people are saying a 7900xtx is only as fast as a 3070, nothing like that was brought up.

You people are comparing a custom water-cooled card to air cooled. Not sure about other countries but a custom 4090 in Australia will cost minimum $1000 more than this ASRock aqua 7900xtx.

You are forgetting about the custom water cooled hobby cost. Might sound dumb to some but FPS isn't everything.

We're not forgetting anything. This isn't the early 2000s, air cooled models are often built very well. AFAIK every model of air cooled 4090 runs relatively cool and isn't unreasonably loud. It doesn't seem logical to go with a water cooled 7900 XTX, when they're ~10% different in price at MSRPs of $1450 vs $1600, for any reason when you're spending that much money...

In my case, after taxes and all the other nonsense is taken care of, the Aorus Elite 7900 XTX I ordered ends up $284 CAD cheaper than the cheapest (base TUF model) RTX 4080 (80, not 90) I'd pick. The 4080 OC model comes out to a hilarious $589 more. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to take a 4090 over the 7900 XTX if it was only 10% more. The TUF 4090 is only $10 above the cheapest 4090 model here, that comes out to a difference of $928 if I wanted that.

And I'm one of the rare people that doesn't particularly care about RT, for now, either.

Not only that, you need another $1000 worth of additional parts to make it work.

People who are willing to buy that card are water cooling their PC. You got to compare this price to water cooled 4090. The cheapest water cooled 4090 i could find on newegg is 1800$ USD.

It doesn't matter if there is a need for a water cooled 4090 or not. People who are willing to water cool their PC will water cool their PC. It's a hobby for some people.

$1500 for any 7900 XTX is not a good buy, there's nothing you can say that will change that fact.
A 50% increase in price to still be significantly slower is throwing money away.

People who do it for a hobby typically buy cheaper cards and a separate waterblock and save a few hundred $.

Regardless that $1800 4090 is still a way better deal. This $1500 7900XTX is for those that sort by highest price and click purchase as they do not know better.

I have been custom watercooling for 6 years now, with 4090 watercooling just doesn't matter, my 4090 TUF is quieter than my previous custom loop with 6x Noctua A12x25 fans.

IMO custom watercooling is a pain in the butt LOL, the PC get so freaking heavy when I have to move the PC out of the room for blowing dust + flushing the loop.
