I normally dislike white/silver hardware with rbg but this is actually really nice.

Yeah, that looks really good. At least an aesthetically successful design.

The RX 69xx series suffered from a good bit of coil whine for some. I assume that is expected, but hopefully there are using a better solution.

Looks good, Sapphire will have one too I am sure.

would be a lot cleaner with a 12-pin.

Hell no. I have him ignored for many reasons.

Limit your FPS. I only get coil whine when FPS is above 500+.

    This gpu is sexy. TEMPTING.

Yes, the Aqua XTX looks fantastic! I feel like Asrock is one of the best on the design side of things, their motherboards already are really good.

Damn Sexy! If only a miracle would make 4KRT performance @ 60 FPS...

Looking forward to see it destroy in raster benchmarks tho.

Nothing says 'clean' like a set up jumper cables rammed against the case window

Main one being burned a thousand times and not being able to respond with anything else than silly insults like a manchild.
nah, it wouldn't be cleaner with a single cable in place of three.absolutely not.and amd are going to avoid using a 12-pin forever.

If the 12-pin connector is now slightly adjusted to deal with the design promoted user errors, it has been a very smart choice from AMD to postpone adopting it. Better to use the finished design than the immature one. After all, this is hardly anything that could be called cutting edge technology (like RT, for example). It's just a power cable, and it doesn't really matter, at the end of the day, how power is delivered as long as enough is delivered. Though it's easier for me to say than for some others, seeing how I sport a windowless case by choice.

imo they could use 12-pin this gen, with a better adapter than nvidia. I mean, do you think getting a pci-e cable right will have to take years ? If I were to guess, the 12-pin will probably feature on the final tape out of navi 31 (the refresh that 7900xt/xtx were supposed to be in the beginning)

Everybody's sticking to the standard, though, although I'm not sure how well they all are sticking to the tolerances. Maybe the tolerances were unrealistic, seeing how the plug was made smaller and a 12V plug is something nobody would want to pay even a full dollar for, a piece (speaking of industry prices in bulk). Hard to say, not being an expert. I'm 100% certain Nvidia never saw this coming. AMD as well would have never seen this coming if they had also adopted the new cable. AMD just got lucky for reasons that probably had nothing to do with this accident originally. Although I guess it would be funny if AMD had actually witnessed the likelihood for user errors when studying the cable a while ago and then stayed silent, to be able to cheaply laugh at Nvidia later if something happened.

don't think this is the case, as they knew of nvidia's issues well ahead (even before 4090 was launched pci-sig warned of this) but it's not their duty to decide for nvidia what to do about them.

Same I get coil whine on both my 6800XT and 3080Ti when FPS is really high.

Limiting FPS is a must. I now have a hard set in both AMD and Nvidia control panel of 250fps so no game will go above that. Then I sometimes cap FPS in SP games even lower to save on power and temps too.

happens on every card, no matter the brand.
I think it's more AIB partner specific than anything else.
asus cards are the worst in my experience, even the expensive ones, while I'm getting almost none on cheap gigabyte gaming 3060ti

My capp is 144 for anything except benchmarks.

Most single player games ill play 75fps because freesync. Still super smooth.

Now if the game is old, ill let it go to 144.

I think it also depends on the PSU used.
My 6900xt and Vega 64 both had coil whine at more then 200-250fps on my 10 year old Corsair 1000W PSU.
I mounted capacitors on the ends of the PCI 8 pin power cables and the coil whine disappeared or maybe moved up to 300-500 fps or something that I would never hit anyway.
