How many serious gamers actually game over wifi? Also, how many gamers have 'ac' capable devices that can receive 1733mbps over wifi?
I wouldnt even suggest gaming over wifi. anything can cause interference and lag. I have an old microwave and everytime it runs. wifi signal drops in the house. doesnt help when there is 10 other wifi signals in the area. and they all using different channels. so it hard to find one that doesnt get interference.
why would you need this for gaming? low ping and steady connection are all that really matter, this would probably be good for those looking to transfer and stream large files and/or have a large amount of devices connected. mentality seems to be that games can be online, must have more bandwidth to transfer at tops a few hundred mb hour!
I do, as my desktop isn't in the same area that my network stuff is in. PCE-AC68 in the desktop and an RT-AC68U as the main router. Not 1733mbps though, just 1300mbps.
But you don't 'need' an 'ac' capable router for gaming over wifi, an 'n' capable one will do just fine, heck, even a good 54mbps one should do! If you're using lots of bandwidth like streaming/downloading then OK, but 'ac' for gaming, come on ASRock!! Also, you're gaming over wifi not by choice but by circumstance, I bet you'd be wired if you had the choice of wifi/wired in the same room
