Its not your card. I have the same card (HD6990) and the same problem when i change the objects quality to Very High (artifacts everywhere).

I was hoping that 1.1 patch would solve the problems, but I'm still getting the same artifacts and black squares. Anybody else?

Yeah, but the problem is on Very high, and mostly on AMD cards it seems.

    No fix yet.
I get the same with objects on VERY HIGH with my 6970's.
    Yet with my 7950's I don't.
Same drivers for both. (currently 13.2 Beta 7's)
But i get the artifacts on my 6xxx cards with any 13.2 drivers in Crysis 3.

    Its obviously a driver bug.

It looks like it's about time AMD started releasing separate drivers for 7xxx GPUs and 6xxx and earlier GPU's since trying to keep the drivers unified seems to effect one or the other in negative ways.

The problems you guys are having seems to be limited to 69xx series GPUs. HD7970 had 0 problems with this game.

EDIT: Whoops, looks like this was pointed out already :p

Hey guys, this game is absolutely kicking the crap out of my 3570K, getting up to 70C in game. What settings can I reduce that will lower the impact on CPU but have the least visual impact?

70 isnt that bad, can you cool it more? cpu usage is high? do you cap your fps?

I've been playing with vsync enabled, and yeah 70C isn't too bad really, but its at least 10C higher than any other game. even running prime only pushes 10C higher than playing crysis 3, so im wondering if the cpu is taking such a beating, is it the limiting factor when it comes to crysis 3's performance? CPU usage varies depending on the area, but is often in the 90's%

like...if I was so turn down some of the settings that enable cpu processed physics, my rig might be able to hold 60FPS more often, as its the physics heavy areas where my fps seems to drop.

I get a black alpha square show up behind any Enemy shot with rounds from the LAV or Grenade Launcher. with a 7970 and newest beta driver... otherwise other explosive weapons like bow and etc do not cuase this at alll

Best way to reduce your CPU temp would be to lower clock by 100MHz and lower voltages for it.

I personally OC based on analysis of several frequencies. I have table which contains: freq, all minimum voltages required to pass stress tests, max. temp and max Watt output from Intel Burn Test.

My i5-2500k max. temperature goes steadily up till it runs 60°C at 4,4GHz.
Then it raises considerably and at 4,6GHz it is 69°C. (In IBT, OCCT will not stress CPU that much but is more likely to find unstable OC.)
Even while I can go in day by day safe temperatures up to 4,8GHz I stick to 4,4GHz which is sweet spot for my chip and there is minimal impact in performance for games anyway.

You can notice difference only in benchmarks. And I do not play those.

So, I still have this problem. Does anyone know if Crytek or AMD are working on a fix? I don't want to adjust my config file, they should make this game working out of the box.

I've noticed artifacts creeping back in on some other games too - not many and they're far between, but they are back. I knew it was too good to last... :(

Has this been resolved for anyone?

Did any of your hardware fail as a result to these symptoms?
