Yeah that question has crossed my mind as well..it's a bit off if you ask me...
I agree but...Arma was really buggy and the lag made infantry fighting frustrating at best. ArmaII definitely was an improvement over the original. You can infantry fight but it just doesn't have the smootheness that nearly every other fps shooter consitently provides.
It will be intersting if they change the engine to provide a fluid experience. Not run and gun. Just good ole' Arma but buttery smooth is my wish.
unoptimized, game, right, 10, meters
Idiot, up , 1 , post.
if I get five more fingers attached this should be great game.
-put arma II\OA on hold till I got my 580's up and running -from 285 sli., and never had the time or focus to reload them.
Demanding requirements holy sh*t.
Alot of new screenshots appeared:
If those eastern Europeans could just get a grip on QA...

Interview, some of the questions were a bit funny but also had some interesting info on gameplay, engine (DX11 only it seems but backwards compatible to DX10.) and such.
^Looks like some RPG elements being added with the introduction of quests...sounds interesting.
Game looks good, looks like I need to upgrade though
For a further update on confirmed features:

There is an ArmA 2 free version that has lower graphics and some other downgrades, but the core gameplay is pretty much there, try it out.

i want to see close up views of the villages, my hope is that it will be detailed aswell. the far view looks photorealistic, blows every game away.
