The Germany releasedate, set to May 29th this Monday, was already pulled back by the german publisher. At the moment June is more likely. Many preview links incl. pics and videos: http://www.armaholic.com/index.php?c=news_arma_2 Edit: A dev in the official forums mentioned this:

i hope it runs better then ArmA 1, damn the video is awesome, can't wait for it to get released same as OPF2
Those specs go from very low to very high quite dramatically. I do not think that this game is going to be easy to run. Much like ARMA 1 which was ludicrously hard to run smoothly.
i own ARMA Gold which includes Queens Gambit or something like that..i got bore easly..i couldnt pass the very first forth or fifth mission in the time...isnt there a way to CHEAT? i want to pass those missions..damn
There are 7 (8) new screenshots. The map seems to be the same on both. http://www.eprison.de/screen/19641 http://www.bluesnews.com/screenshots/games/arma2/20090501/ The game looks quite nice, now i hope for a mostly bugfree and playable game. But being a OFP player since the demo and ArmA1 since v1.00...i'm expecting the worst and hoping for the best.
Agree, that is the point exactly. The TrakIR video dont run smooth with a Quad and GTX285 at 1280x720, with the game at "good" settings. what I can expect in my 1920x1200 screen ? The worst, ArmA is a demanding game like Crysis and that not change in version 2.
man the game has massive amounts of foliage now, and that was something that caused performance isseus in arma 1, but I think they have optimized it better this time.
Yes, seems that they have optimized the engine, but with my resolution I dont expect play this game fine untill GT300 release
Dslyecxi mentioned the following on the FPS: The german press demonstration by Morphicon, for a handfull of community members in Munich, was said to had good FPS and was running on: Intel Core2 Duo E 8500 @3,1 Ghz 4GB DDR2-RAM GTX280 Vista 64 Settings on High, Viewdistance 4Km, 1920*1080 Source: reviews by the community members being at the press demo

I run otherwise at 1920x1080 and it performs well. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1278392#post1278392 IGN Hands-On 20th April 2009 ...And the good news is that it ran well at very high detail settings with an 8800GTX, which is practically a mid-range graphics card now.
If ArmA2 does fail for whatever reason, we will at least get a beautifully looking sightseeing, hiking, mountainbiking and hunting sim. New section is up: http://www.arma2.com/military-zones_en.html
i remember the times that they were saying that CRYSIS was running at high setting on a ATi x1900 LOL :wanker: Anyway, i hope this game will be good optimized.
Seems promising with that performance reports, you guys are very well informed , I hope that dont have the problems of ArmA1. I´ll buy anyway cos is a bind have, ArmA is unique in realism and tactical warfare :biggun: Perhaps I´ll down something in graphics to run well but I dont mind cos new build is near (GT300) :eyebrows:
It looks amazing and from the gameplay clips im excited, but this game is going to fail with most because its going to be so complicated and you wont just be able to jump right in and play.......youll need to set a key up just to tie your shoe laces.
A daily player of Arma and OFP covert I dont unstestand your post Yes it does have more options and more functions but that makes it more involving I am just glad this time around arma 2 actually uses more then 1 core since arma never did
