Why? No work tomorrow, its game time!
Game has just download a 232 MB patch for me a few minutes ago. Is that supposed to be the DX12 update because when I loaded the game it was still showing as DX11?
The patch was 492mb for me, and no DX12 yet.....
Sorry, that was another update, the ARK one was 492 MB and from the Steam forum it appears that this update does not contain DX12.
Why promise DX12 this Friday if they don't mean it? :3eyes:
Im wondering the same thing.
I havent gotten another patch for 232mb.
But I am in the US so Im still on Friday.
Signals to me overpromising and last minute troubles.
But hey, I bet they got a lot of media coverage for it, more money for them.
@ Scatman839 - Annoying if it is delayed because this "free" weekend trial meant I would have been able to play my first ever DX12 game. Not sure I want to actually buy the game though, particularly if it is a year away from release as I am not a big fan of Early Access personally. It's bad enough when PC games are released and they are unfinished (hello Batman: Arkham Knight!!!) without playing games that really ARE unfinished!
There is alot of private ARK servers, latest updates. Try it, if you like it buy it.
Well I for one think the game is bloody terrible. Terrible performance. Terrible gameplay and execution. Just all round terrible.
I remember almost buying it once and now I'm ever so glad I didn't. Unreal Engine 4 my arse.
Def not my cup of tea, kinda disappointed no dx12 update like they said today, looking for some impressions on dx12.

Why do devs announce things before they actually test them and know they work? I cannot say I am surprised at this last minute delay but the only reason I downloaded the game was to test DX12 as I am not that interested in it otherwise.
Not watching my FPS, but totally smooth and zero stutter.....Now if I could stop dying.
Disappointing that DX12 was delayed, need to go back and try to play it some more todsee if it's worth buying as at the moment I don't think it is.
Interesting that the devs still need help from Nvidia and AMD driver wise.
No wonder, with three gfx cards :nerd:
What? Its only one card.
Sorry, i just seen word Tri i automatically finish it in my head with Fire
DX12 not until next week.
I can practise not being eaten or starving or dehydrating ....... I will also start monitoring my fps as it's just been updated. I will be able to compare and see what DX12 does.
I think once DX12 has been implemented and tweaked updates will slow down and optimisations begin.
My settings if anyone is interested staying north of 40 fps
Haven't they been saying DX12 is coming for like 10 years now? Then they said it makes no difference and kind of slowly mumbled something as they backed away from saying Dx12 is coming?
Holy balls this was in August!!!
[08/28/15] ARK DirectX 12 Delay
ARK DirectX 12 Delay
It's been a long week here at Studio Wildcard as the programming team has been grinding to get the DX12 version ready for release. It runs, it looks good, but unfortunately we came across some driver issues that we can't entirely tackle ourselves . We’ve reached out to both NVIDIA and AMD and will be working with them to get it resolved as soon as possible! Once that’s tackled, we’ll be needing to do more solid testing across a range of hardware with the new fixes. Sadly, we're gonna have to delay its release until some day next week in order to be satisfied with it. It's disappointing to us too and we're sorry for the delay, really thought we’d have it nailed today but we wouldn't want to release ARK DX12 without the care it still needs at this point. Hang in there, and when it's ready for public consumption, it should be worth the wait!
