Now that sounds more like it. "Apparently says" a lot of things, think it's something to do with the Chinese [whispers] lol

I was a bit annoyed years back when OCers.co.uk were pretty quick to bung a big extra chunk of premium over the 5850's very reasonable for the performance MSRP while other companies at least resisted a week or two before jumping on the Overpricing Bandwagon -.-"
    - Luckily I got in early just before the price hikes that time

These days companies no longer seem to care about looking bad it seems and are Quite Happy to screw over their loyal early adopting customers and push out those with less cash to spare despite the grumbling.

...hang On, isn't that why the Brits pay such Huge Premiums all over the shop & industry take it as read we will just suck it up and pay through our noses?

Industry pretty much came out and said that's why the new Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell car costs a Whopping £24,000 in the UK more than the USA about doubling it's price. Because we are seen as suckers is the Only reason for the increased price.
(After adding in available US grants they have available there, we actually end up paying £34,558 more than US citizens

That's right rich kids, keep paying because you can and eventually that attitude will hit your wallet above the cost of an over priced GFx card where it will Actually HURT...

what a retarded form of impatient arrogance that just hurts everyone -.-"""

But hey, who wants to change right?
(as much as I want the card I am not paying sucker tax prices for it)

...not really sorry for that "rant", not very happy about the increasing levels of sucker tax going about atm over here :bang:

Prices will go up after first batch. If you want one get it in the first batch.

  4. Personally, tbh, I don't like the design, but that is some kick ass GPU ;).

And so you are right, I'd seen some people saying it was 1am BST, but the AMD Rep AMDJoe over at OCUK confirmed it is in fact 1pm BST

It's not entirely the fault of the AMD/Nvidia or the UK retailers, our tax man is the main reason for the higher prices.

A 980ti costs $649.99 on Newegg which is £413.27, while OCUK have one for £449.99 before vat, so only £37 difference.

Humanoid's rant reminded me of titan pricing and how that is terrible for the pc world but people will still buy em.

I think the 980Ti was going to be more, but AMD forced NVidia's hand some :)

Thankfully GFx card prices seem to settle pretty quickly when nothing is artificially keeping them up (extra demand for some reason)

NVidia have been Really Cheeky with the Titan's and high end cards, slowly crippling their compute performance while trying to continue to charge high inflated prices - this also helped them make their chips simpler and reduce power draw, while AMD kept up stronger compute abilities. (very roughly, sorry a bit tired just this moment, really skimming with this paragraph to keep short)

Well am looking forward to some good competition and quickly lowering prices and a battle for the strongest Cards this year and next, fun interesting times ^^

Zen with HBM used like a Large fast "on die" cache supplemented by DDR4 main system RAM - I can only hope :)

Yea but honestly waiting for the face-palms when the over hyped furry x doesn't deliver like promised, its AMD after all allays playing catch up to N GREDDIA! these days. If they had that level of awesomeness in terms of power consumption vs. performance and on the driver level like N GREEDIA dose, then I say we would have a winner. In the end i'm getting a bad feeling that they will counter in a week or 2 with something much better sadly at the cost of us consumers so much for the best gaming experience possible for all rubbish he allays talks about I guess lol allays something:bang:
