Good point, but what about those people in third world countries? It's not like there's a Best Buy down the block at the mall for them. Is piracy okay in their case? I mean from my understanding piracy increases the price of software... or so they tell me. I've always bought games, but their prices never went down, if anything they've gone up. I honestly don't think piracy changed prices at all. But anyways, what about those third world countries? :cops: :cops: :cops: :cops: :cops: :cops: :cops: :cops: :cops:
75% of my games are pirated (don't look at me like that) I'd rather spend this money on hardware if you know what I mean Damn if only there were pirated hardware*sigh*
microsoft should have special prices for third wolrd countries..here in the phils Xp sells for 9000pesos or about $200, and MSoffice sell for 20000 pesos, roughly $400..how the hell do they expect home users to spend $400 for MS office?
I will say only that I have some pirated software from forums (that I will not mention). But most of my games are legit because I want to play them online and it's not worth the time/hassel/jail time for cracking them. I no cd/dvd crack most of my games to save having to put the disk in but that is legit anyway. I tend not to try to download pirated software because I think the developers who make the software apart from Microsoft earn the money.
i want to buy legit but i cant afford.. pirated games cost only 10% compared to their original counterparts... like i said..if the prices of legit software is lower here in the phils id buy them for sure..even if they only slashed prices by 50%..$50 for a game is expensive for Filipino income..$400 for MS office?waaay to much for home use
lols thats why most of my games are demo versions..its all good i dont end up playing them anyway..bet on soldier?TRL? just demos..didnt like those ganes
Har Har Har! I am Guybrush Treepwood, a Mighty Pirate! I like Rum, and when I play Sid Meier's Pirates! I'm a pirate too. Sitting in front of my pc with my pirate outfit:toke:
Sorry to bust in and add another vote for the minority... I have (and will) always paid for software I use. Things I download are trial versions or shareware which once (and if) I find it useful, I pay for. I've been on the other end of this rope - a developer who's software proved useful enough to catch the attention of crackers. Sales took a massive nose dive and I simply folded up the project. Why should I as a developer spend time, money and effort on a project only to have cheap-arse users download and use my software for nicks? I just love hearing of people who can't live without a certain piece of commercial software but never consider reimbursing the developer/publisher! If I intended my software to have been free, I would have made it free-ware and open sourced it but it wasn't and I haven't. Da... go to the theatre and purchase a ticket maybe? That'd sound good as an excuse - heard of waiting for it to release on DVD most other people do? Nobody is losing money? So the act of downloading a bootleg DVD rather than walking into a store and purchasing the title doesn't involve money these days? You just keep on kidding yourself it's not stealing, one day you might just believe it
Yeah but charging so high prices is a crime! We first need to pay 200 buck for MS, then another 60 for the game, and then to play it really well over 1500 bucks on hardware to play it, that's insane! Lower the prices, increase the sell!
