I like taking photos but i dont carry any professional camera with me. I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 camera for everyday shots and the quality of the picture comes out really good with it.

I cant say that I'm a photofag. I dont have enough lenses or nice enough gear to be considered one.

Definitely can't afford to be a photofag at this point. I do aspire to be one someday though lolol

I wish i had the money to actually buy lens and cameras to do so. Being a student does come with certain disadvantages. :giggle2:

Well really I find this hard to beleive.. I mean, I've been a student two years and finally finished my program where each class cost me no less than 400 bucks and I still managed to buy a 70-200 f/4 for $600.. only problem I have is that I tend to not get out too much to take photos.

That said though, its always attainable if you want something.. just gotta scrounge together some cash where you can and make it happen, student or not.

Here is my little collection, minus my 5d mkII.
Just need a wider zoom and maybe a 24-70L 2.8 lens to go with them, oh, and a 50mm 1.2 lens.

From left to right... 100-400L IS, 70-200L 2.8 IS mkII, 100mm macro and my 24-105L.

Thats the advantages of being old and fairly well paid, lol.

    At times yes, I can be a photofag, although I only have a 20D and a 100-400L.

@ Kanej2007 How's the 120-300's AF performance, in normal and poor light?

My uncle bought one and it produced fantastic images but the AF stopped working after 2 weeks so he immediately returned it and got a canon 300 f2.8 instead!

It's AF performance in normal/good light is very quick, never tried it in low light.

However, it has NEVER had any problems with regards to focussing, had it over a year now and it produces fantastic images, just as good as any other 200 or 300mm prime...

Could it of been your Uncles camera? Sometimes it could be the camera, lens or it may be the lens needs to be calibrated for the camera...

    I have used my 120-300 on a D90, D300s, D700 & now with my D7000, it's been perfect with all cameras...

The body he used with the lens and still uses is a 1D MK 4. It focuses perfectly with all the other lenses he has.

He also tried the 120-300 on a 20D and a 7D but after the "incident" it still wouldn't AF!

So i guess it was just bad luck or something?

To my luck i've NEVER had a bad copy of any lens touch wood...

As for the Tokia 11-16, I used to have one and while it's good it's not as wide as Nikon's 14-24, however considering the price of it compared to the 14-24, it's more or less half the price, so it's a bargain...

Yeah, must of been a defective lens...

Even the best of the best can be faulty, 70-200 f2.8, even 200 and 300mm f2.8 could be defective but this is VERY rare on a pro spec lens, you will find a lot more defective kit lenses than pro ones as they are much more mass produced and they have no time to check each and every lens for faults!!

    Nice collection! :)

I used to have the 70-200 f2.8 too but it's always not strong enough that's why you need teleconverters...

That's the next thing I need, a 1.7X tele converter...
