Personally I like the newer/est NGO drivers. As far a XP goes.

DNA drivers are known for being pretty porr, unless im sorely mistaken. Do you need custom drivers for extra performance? My card seems to run every game under the sun at pretty high, if not highest settings at my native resulution. So far Ive had awesome performance in vista x64 with this card. Any specific reason why the generic forcewares arent adequate?

Yep, I use the 158.22's for my card :)

Above poster (soul8103) is wrong. DNAs have high quality work too.

Well from what i remember of the ATI cat modified drivers they did, they were well known for being buggy. Tried many diff versions on my comp and they were all terrible. NGO and Omega imo are the only modded driver groups worth using. I dont understand why you would need modded drivers for an 8800 GTS, it's already fast enough.

    Calm down sunshine..

I'm not arguing over their performance, just in my experience using DNA drivers on my ati card caused artifacts and bsod's, using many different versions. I guess some think differently^^. That wasnt just over 1 system either. NGO and omega drivers I found very stable. I never even mentioned 'DHzer0point' drivers so before you throw around 'TARD' insults, you should learn how to read.

They've all been good for me...

    Especially DHzer0point ones, when I still had a 7900GT :/

DH0 92.91's are the best for anything in the 7 series, hands down.

    lol
judging on your card you need only performance
but when you take a better look you will see that some drivers are good for performance and some for quality
i can say that NGO drivers are best balanced(performance/quality) drivers i ever seen
DNA have very good performance boost but quality is quite low
(about Omega drivers: they was and they will stay the best i hope he will come back with his modd of nvidia drivers)

anyway they are all better than nvidia original drivers

Test games, not 3d mark. Also 6 points on the first bench could be lost just by running 3d mark twice without changing drivers and shows no real difference.

The 136 marks again on the second bench Is not even worth worrying about. You dion't game on 3dmark do you? Go test some games, which ever one you feel is the most stutter free/stable/smooth are the set uyou should stick with. Not the driver set that scores highest on 3d mark.

i'd thinking before test those drivers with 3dmarks06 but, i've read something in a forum they was test it on 3dmarks06, and thats the reason, why i did those benchs.:behead:

Ok then a good test, for example it was HL2 test no? or isn't

    Thanks :smoke:

P.D: if anyone knows, performance profile on DNA, causes bad quality words on cod2, so bad, but one time those was installed i cant change it by modified the settings or maybe need to reinstall DNA to choose the other option.

Just try the drivers, play some games that you own. If they run ok then keep em. If not then move to the next driver set (or previous) etc...
