This is how you handle a hardware issue.

Check here if you are effected.

Welp, thanks for that.... Service kit ordered....

I was actually considering switching to a Noctua D15.... Only reason I haven't is because the price is insane

I too switched from an arctic liquid freezer 360 to a Noctua NH-U12A black edition.

You are giving up quite a lot of headroom for clocks. The 360mm AIO was an impressive 8-10C cooler than the Noctua.

Now I have a Fractal Torrent case its much better suited to air cooling thanks to its massive dual 180mm 35mm thick intake fans.

No regrets paying it myself (for D15 that is), i only ever have to spin the fans 600 RPM to keep my CPU (11700 Non-K) well within acceptable temps (45C-55C) during gaming.

Thankfully my 420mm was purchased in 2020 and is not affected. I wonder if I can just buy the service kit instead even though I'm not affected? It's a nice idea to be able to open it up, replace the copper heatsink, gasket, top up the fluids whilst you're there, you know, peace of mind...bit like servicing a car.

This is something all AIO suppliers should consider selling assuming it's easy enough to replace on those products!

Yeah you are right, a company with full transparency should not be trusted. This isn't actually a recall. Gamers Nexus did a much more informative video on it. The Freezer II's are the best AIO's on the market for cooling and noise. If you cook your CPU because of an AIO failure, thats on you. Thats like running your car out of oil and blaming the car when you didn't check it.

Wish more manufacturers act like this, this is how you boost confidence in your product.

    PS : It's not a recall

Insane is not the word. It's 170$ in canada. For an air cooler it's ludicrous.

People buy Arctic because....cheap. I did too, and I wont do it again.

    Longevity and reliability matters.

I'm long past Arctic, fortunately it wasnt an expensive learning experience.

As far as noise..I sent back Arctic fans that developed noise a few times over, until I just gave up. I tried.

I've found it in the range of $125 to $185 in the US....

I've been using Arctic CPU coolers and case fans for almost 20 years. I've never had a problem from any of their products except for MX-5.... In fact, I have family still running a socket 754 system that I built back in 2006. It's been going for 16 years on the same Arctic CPU cooler, thermal compound and case fans. It's still dead silent and yes, the fans are still spinning.

If you go to the page linked in the OP, they ask for product model, country of delivery and purchase date. I haven't seen anything where they ask for proof of purchase, so it wouldn't be too hard to fudge the purchase date.

Arctic Liquid Freezer II NEW GASKET defect is this getting a pass by the same people who ripped other manufactures to
    shreds.

To me this seems like either a bad supplier, or someone trying to increase margins on a product. Either way the fact that Arctic brought it to everyone's attention and is offering a free fix is the important part (I might feel differently if it was a catastrophic failure situation). Doing the fix yourself doesn't void the 6 year warranty which is one of, if not, the best AIO warranty on the market.

(I do have one of the coolers effected by this and submitted the form for the replacement parts)
