MOSCOW, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Nadezhda Tsydenova, Anton Zverev - Apple has started displaying Crimea, the peninsula annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014, as Russian territory in its Maps and Weather apps — but only for users within Russia....

Media 101. Show people what they want to see, not what they should see.

Not surprised at all. I understand that the fact might be a thing to consider, but I'm not surprised that's how it's done. @sverek is right, show them what they want to see, and comply with the government or gtfo of the market if not... China does the same. Not sure about India, and I doubt this happens in the US or the EU, for now.

Those who lack "validation" will never stop seeking it... I've seen this throughout my life. What you linked to; the tweet, does not validate them no matter how far they twist the narrative. It's a systemic insecurity & arrogance.

EDIT: I should clarify "Those in power" & this isn't specific just to there; it occurs in far more places than I wish it did...

Do you not fear the missiles? Even some percent of those can finish the life on Earth (as I take it).

Many people here (in Russia) reckon Russian military a joke - incapable, incompetent, corrupted, outdated.

I hope you will believe me that majority of population do not want any wars. Unfortunately decisions here do not come from people.

Well, history with USA and Iraq shows that people of democratic country can be manipulated into approval of war.
    Propaganda exists in all countries.

"Sadly" is the word. I meant it - sadly democracy is not guarantee against bad decisions. And of course this is not an excuse for my country authorities.

Russia is the most fascinating country history wise. From Peter the Great till the break-up of the Soviet Union, never been a dull moment. I encourage others to explore its history. Youtube rich source of good documentaries.

Not any different from "Start of Vietnam War". It is propaganda. It's about keeping faces. It's about swaying masses.
Nothing good to be said about it.
