By no one you mean nearly the same as the US, right?

Varies quite a bit per country - eastern European countries use apple a lot less, while sadly apple has a huge share in Denmark. So many crapple fans here, it's obnoxious.

He said the "EU" specifically - of which 30% use a iPhone vs 47% in the US (which is actually up by a lot in the last few years) but the EU's population is ~100M more than the US. This is terms of smart phones -- but a quick glance at Apple's EU marketshare in computers doesn't show them that far behind other companies anyway.

That being said you're right about it being different with each country - I think you'll find a pretty large correlation between a country's GDP and % market share of Apple products.

I personally don't see the problem with Apple. Everyone in here bitches about Intel not being competitive, what happens when industries don't have competition - but for some reason don't take this stance when it comes to Apple. The user experience of Android was trash for half a decade, animations were laggy, screens weren't properly calibrated, the market was completely fragmented -- all of that changed because of pressure from Apple. Laptops were the same way.. the entire industry was in a race to the bottom, in 2008 you'd have 15" plastic trash laptops with like 2" bezels and a 720p screen as the default experience.. Apple started pushing aluminum unibody, higher res calibrated displays, etc - suddenly everyone was forced to compete then out came the Surface, Dell XPS line got overhauled to actually be modern, etc.

That's not to mention that when the alternative to Apple is essentially two other companies that have crap records in terms of ethics, then are you really standing on some high ground by not supporting them?

I don't like Linux, I don't like Mac OS, I don't like ios. Income and country is irrelevant. People should learn some basic data science how clients think.

I accept that Apple had many breakthroughs. Apple is the reason we have better quality displays and portability, materials, etc as mentioned above, but nothing more.

Apple is the reason also for camera or performance benchmarking in phones.

I admire their uniqueness, M1 is great but for an underwhelming OS and small ecosystem. It's like bragging for owning a Ferrari without smooth roads and parking. :D
