Apple announces iPhone 6 and Apple Watch

Isn't that what all the phone manufacturers have been doing for the last two or three generations?

 

This is not a phone. It is a multimedia player with phone functionality. That is the only way Apple can skirt the FCC rule requiring standardized ports; mini usb.

 

So as far as phones/media devices, this just catches Apple up with Samsung. My old iPhone 5, which I used for about a year, only charged for about 30 minutes of talk and a single day of standby after that single year of use. You can't get much worse than that so any new battery is better.

I don't think the big announcement is going to be the iPhone, I think something else must be brewing because this is zzzz so far. It will probably be that new payment watch so we can battle a whole new method of fraud for decades to come.

 

The 6+ price is outrageous. $300 with a two year contract and only 16GB no SD card slot.

 

Have Apple improved the resolution of the screen? The 1140x640 resolution or whatever it was on the iPhone 5S/5C was pretty poor in comparison to other flagship Android phones which pack in 1920x1080 and even 2560x1440.

The iPhone design is also getting really dull IMO. At one time it used to be an attractive phone but the likes of HTC and the One put it firmly in the shadows IMO.

 

The 6+ has a 1920x1080 display but the 6 is lower.

 

1334x750(326ppi) for the iPhone 6, 1920x1080 (401ppi) for the iPhone 6 Plus... Oh boy... what an improvement. BTW, didn't Google do the NFC payment with Google Wallet?

 

You aren't the only person that thought that. The entire room was silent when the prices were shown on the screen. Some planted person yelled "wow" and Tim immediately said "right, wow". This person is obviously planted hoping to deflect from the silence in the room. Keep in mind this is a room that cheers a button moving from the top to the side.

 

Don't get me wrong they both look like nice phones just Apple has missed the boat on prices.

 

Well finally the most important event of the year has happened: the release of a new iPhone...

Now we can move along with our lives...

 

Google Glass and the watch are more interesting than these new phones.

The phone becoming a larger device is sort of opposite where I thought it would go.

A nice looking watch that has all of the phone/iOS crap inside of it would be ideal for me...although a watch is not a good device for taking pictures and video, I'm sure it could be made to work. I don't like having a bunch of stuff in my pockets.

 

Could of at least got rid of the top and bottom block.

 

$100 more than the moto360 for the watch too. Hopefully it doesn't have **** battery life. 360 could have been perfect apple watch killer =(

 

If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!

 

Those prices are ridiculous. No wonder Apple is losing market share. Whoever came up with those prices, needs to quite whatever drug they're on.....or share it with the rest of us.

My wife has 2 iPhone4's that can't even hold a charge for 24hrs sitting on a shelf.

How exactly is the iPhone ahead? Android and Scamsung have more market share than Apple/iOS does and market share is what matters.

The sad part is that people actually buy their products.. I don't understand. I recently purchased a galaxy s5 and I thought it was kind of expensive. But this? This is an insult.
