That's odd, I did a search on skroutz.gr (a greek price comparison site) and it seems this SKU has been there for about 6 months. It even has user reviews that are 2 months old.
Nice to see Ultrawides really coming down in price. I got the alienware 34 inch on sale last year for $600 and it was the biggest step up for a gaming PC since SSD came out. I was skeptical about curved Ultrawide at first but it is very immersive, at 100+ fps 3440x1440p is significantly easier to render than 4K 100+
I have a 27" curved monitor, at first it was distracting to me. But once my brain got used to it I wouldn't use anything but a curved monitor now. $449.00 FOR A 144HZ 1440P 1MS monitor is a great starting price imho. Would like to see reviews from people who actually own this monitor. I just happen to be looking for a larger 1440p monitor to go with Zen-2 and Big Navi release.
I was sceptical about UWD curved especially until my mate got one few weeks ago. After the first hour to get used to it, everything looks much much better so grabbing the AOC one as soon as I start my next contract probably even next week Time to replace the 5y old 2730Z
Nope. I bought this monitor in late February but it was out of stock and received it in the beginning of May. This monitor has been out for quite a while. Maybe this is new for the US market? Here is Guru3d's article from back in December. https://www.guru3d.com/news_story/aoc_unleashes_two_34_inch_219_screens_with_a_1440p_va_panel.html Edit: This might be a coincidence or not. But back on 28 April I sent a support ticket to AOC to ask about availability of this monitor in Europe. Got no response....until today that is! And it is from Philips support telling me I addressed the wrong department! I was confused at first since I don't remember contacting Philips but then I learned about TPV.
This monitor has been out for a while. It's been selling out within a day at my local MicroCenter whenever they get a shipment.
Yep, all 11 sites have the X variant, 144Hz on all of them. Though you can't actually see when each site listed it. It does say that it first appeared 6 months ago with the price starting at 699€ (VAT included)
There is an non-X version with 100hz. Check the AOC site. I also have options here to choose both versions. G2 - 100hz G2X - 144hz
On the U.S.A. AOC web site it says the monitor won an award in March of 2020. So I guess it has been around for a while. https://us.aoc.com/en/gaming-monitors/cu34g2x
