AOC announced two Full HD gaming monitors that it has added to its AGON line of professional gaming monitors. The new 27-inch AG271FZ2 and the 24.5-inch AG251FZ2 are both LCD monitors with AMD FreeSyn... AOC Offers AG251FZ2 and AG271FZ2 Agon Gaming Monitors with 240Hz Refresh rate
They are bit late to 240Hz party. But more the merrier. Stand looks OK (adjustment wise), and definitely takes less space than my AW. Only issue is that it costs $50 more than quite older 240Hz AW2518HF while delivering comparable image quality. (And costs more than G-Sync variant too.) AOC went for traditional edge around screen. I am still liking more thin 6mm flat edge on AW. Back of the screen looks nice, but I rarely gets to see mine from behind. For someone, their built-in speakers may be welcome. But I think that in most of cases, target audience uses good headphones or better desktop speakers than screen has.
what image quality? It's TN panel. It lacks quality from every angle. It's like that Boba dude with 1200hp Golf 2. There isn't a shred of quality to speak of. Just speed.
Does anyone have any info on why the monitor market has been hard stuck on LCDs for the past 12.7 million years? I just saw 1080p 27" 240Hz and thought to myself: "That's fine considering using a low res is probably necessary in a lot of games to go over 200 fps", then I realized of course it's a TN.
one could ask why are people stuck thinking that 240Hz is better than 120Hz,, and they will think the same about 500Hz vs 240Hz, in reality, they will still suck at whatever they play and that dude that pwns them is going to continue doing it at whatever/Hz. But OLED and QLED displays at affordable prices are going to be here soon. And some people will still use TN...just like they use windows 7 or w/e.
There's a large market for people who will not buy anything other then a TN, myself included. IPS is nasty with its blacks, and VA, at least everyone i have seen, has horrible ghosting. Now, i'm not saying there shouldn't be anything other then TN, people like what they like, but every time i see a comment like this, it's like people actually believe IPS or VA are the end-all......they are definitely not. Hence why i'm quite interested to see what the Lenovo Y27gq-25 27" 0.5ms 1440p 240hz gsync TN monitor quality turns out to be One of the more naive things i've ever heard. Someone who thinks there's not differences in qualities as well as high quality TN models have never actually paid attention to high quality models, or, puts way too much effort on viewing angels, even though most....logical people. sit in front of their monitor, not to the sides..... But honestly, what is it you're even saying? Quality? What's your definition of quality at that point? Like, if you were to define "quality" when it comes to monitors what would it be? Because it clearly looks as though your definition of "quality" is simply personal preference, which is fine, you can have personal preference, but it's not a definition of quality. If i were to do as you'd do, i'd say ever IPS and VA panel out there is horrible quality. But i won't, because it's not the quality of those panels that i do not like, it's their negatives that i do not like. Has nothing to do with quality.....
