Now that Nvidia supports Gsync on Freesync monitors was a little bit dismayed that that it only works on 10 series gpus and above. Anyone know if theres any tricks to fool the driver to turn it on on lets say a 980 Ti?

    Thanks

Unfortunately, its not supported in the hardware or driver. At this point, you will need a newer GPU.

So it sounds like they're trying to get people to buy new gpus.. like they could have turned it on if they wanted to?

Older GPUs do not have DP1.2a, they were 1.2 only. Its certainly possible that their DP transceiver is missing some functionality to do this.
