invites aren't needed anymore MSN has switched back to protocol 12 which means everyone can sign into the beta's
i do know, becoz im a connect.microsoft tester, and have access to the group chats. they can't just switch it off again otherwise users won't have access to messenger anymore. so its not a feasible option.
they aren't. i haven't gotten invites for almost 4 weeks now. you only get invites if someone invited you to the beta.
Oh come on guys un twist your knickers and forget about the whole incident. If anyone wants an invite them let them ask for it. If you don't want an invite then there is no need to post. I know that the beta testing has basically gone public. I don't know and haven't heard of them taking that public access away.
Well i got an invite from MS and to be honnest i seriously don't get what's all the noise about.... It looks exactly like the previous messanger, with a couple of glossy touch ups and a lot of bugs....
You guys need to read more technology news sites (Neowin.net) to keep yourselves updated. http://www.neowin.net/index.php?act=view&id=32555 No the BETA has NOT gone public, you still need an invite to use WLM. But Microsoft has compensated people who already started to use WLM without invites, they're letting people in directly who use this link. http://ideas.live.com/signup.aspx?versionId=0eccd94b-eb48-497c-8e60-c6313f7ebb73
That link is the sign up link for "Windows Live™ Messenger beta" http://ideas.live.com/programPage.aspx?versionId=0eccd94b-eb48-497c-8e60-c6313f7ebb73 You can also download it from : http://www.msn.co.uk/messengerbeta/Default.asp?MSPSA=1 http://www.9down.com/story.php?sid=6349 So, it's more or less gone public. You don't need invites any more to download and get the latest msn. btw ... I will still stick to Trillian. It's way better.
I tried it, and hated it. People seem to be having trouble with it as well, hence it's a BETA. I somehow don't feel the urge to constantly update my MSN when there's little to nothing that has changed either way... I got to use polygami on it as well, as this is a computer used by multiple accounts.. I stick to 7.5.0324.
I don't know if it's the newer version of MSN Messenger of the Microsoft servers but I'm having a lot of trouble signing on to MSN Messenger. It has nothing to do with my settings, it's the poor quality of Microsoft always hyping a new version when the previous one doesn't work as it should.
yeah, we know there are some major ui bugs, as well as stability bugs. ..heck there are some crash bugs that windows doesn't know what the hell to report :|
I ditched it and went back to 7.5. I do like the gui better, and Beta2 was hella lot better than Beta1...which was absolutely detestable, but it is still buggy and not worth the effort over 7.5 atm imho.
