Before i convert to ati, has anyone seen any evga 8600 cards. Perhaps they can redeem the poor performance

No need to shout it then.......eVGA is probably one of the best supplier out there. I had 3 eVGA cards and they all worked perfectly for me.

Probably the eVGA 8600 series will start showing very soon.

EVGA is actually a very good company but I just read 5 reviews on the 8600's and they are CRAP! Nvidia has just left the door wide open for ATI to step in and dominate the mid-range market. We shall see, we shall see.....

Thought I'd mention that I checked out my member home on Evga's site to see if the step-up prices for the 8800GTS 640MB had changed because of the 8600's release. They hadn't (no surprise really)... But they listed these 8600 cards as step-up options:

    1. e-GeForce 8600GTS 256MB PCI-E (256-P2-N761-AR) - $219.99
    2. e-GeForce 8600GT 256MB PCI-E (256-P2-N751-AR) - $179.99 *BACKORDERED*
