Any motherboard recommendations for Zotac 980ti Extreme SLI set up? The card's huge!!

    Hi Guys.

Recently purchased a Zotac 980ti extreme gpu but have found that even that card on it's own can't max games like Rise of the Tomb Raider and The Division at Max Settings/1440p at 60fps.

Just got my bonus so decided to invest in a second card however if I have the cards in my current motherboard (MSI Z87-G45), there will be barely a cm between them. Figured it's time to go to a i7 6700/DDR4 build but need some recommendations on what motherboard would give a bit of a gap between the cards so that they can stay cool.

    Thanks

EDIT: Also, budget is around the £200 mark for the MOBO.

Thanks guys. Neither of those cards look like they have more space than my current one though.

Maybe a 4 way SLI MOBO would work?

EDIT: This guy has a decent gap between the cards but can't figure out which mobo he has

My Asus VIII Hero has a single slot worth of space between the cards, same as the video you showed.

That should be the case unless those cards are 3 slots wide or something.

Well this is my actual set up at the moment. The card is very nearly covering the second slot, which has two PCI-E 3.0 x1 slots between them.

In the video the guy is running a different socket than you have. MSI LGA 2011-v3.

With you CPU in your signature look at these
    ASUS MAXIMUS VI EXTREME
    Gigabyte G1.Sniper 5
    Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming G1
    Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming GT
    Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming G1 Wifi-Bk
    ASUS Z97-WS
    MSI Z87 XPOWER

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm looking to upgrade to a DDR 4 and i7 6700k set up so its ok.

Essentially I need something like this:

But the msi z170a gaming m9 is over £300 which is a bit much just for a mobo. Struggling to find any others with the same spacing.

Ok ... so because of overheating problems i bought a HG10 N980 and a H100i GTX for my ASUS strix GTX 980 ti .. now it seems that that HG10 N980 will not fit the ASUS Strix PCB ... getting the parts tomorrow and yes ... i should have read about it before purchasing the parts :)

I was just wondering if anyone in here had any experience mounting the HG10 N980 on the Strix PCB?

I should have read all the post.Any boards with lots of spacing and 4 way SLI are going to be expensive.
    GA-Z170X-Gaming G1-£434

You are going to have to settle with 2 way board if you want it under £200.Going to be tight.

Check out this link has lots of 2 way boards.

Thanks man, appreciate the help. A bit over wont be too bad but 300+ is a bit extreme just for a mobo. Don't want to spend more than 1200 for the total upgrade.

This is the best configuration I can come up with:

That mobo also has the stronger PCI slots for heavy ass cards like the zotac.

Edit: Ignore me, didn't see your cooler in previous pic.

Don't forget a CPU cooler if you're going to OC that 6700K...
