Re: 3400+ Sorry dude you are dead wrong 3500 will smoke a 3400 any day of the week had both 3400 is the worst amd out there, even my 3200 claw smoked my 3400 simply because the 3400 couldn’t run t1 @ any think over 220 if its life depended on it. The 3500 smoked both claws by over 1k in 03 Have score to back it up I wont even go in to what my 3200 winny will do . So I think you maybe just a tad misinformed
phrozin, the 3400 is actually very good so I disagree with you. I have never seen a 3500+/9800pro system out perform my 3400+ and I will put my 3400+ system up against any other 9800pro system. "3400 is the worst amd out there"? ok show me an AthlonXP that out performs it lol. the 3400+ is without a dought the best s754 chip.
Re: Re: 3400+ um, no, you'll find a 3400+ will happily smoke a 3500+ in stock form quite easily. I find your comments quite funny, as if you even remotely see a 3400+ vs 3500+ benchmark you'll see that the 3400+'s higher clockspeed beats out the 3500+ even when its running dual channel (im talking both 90nm and 130nm) EDIT: Here is one of many benchmarks that prove the 3400+ wins over both 3500+ variants in most tests and is faster overall http://www.behardware.com/articles/531/page1.html
Re: Re: Re: 3400+ I stand corrected wacky and nerm i though they were talking claws in the 1mb ver the 3400 was seriously crap put one on a msi neo and blue screen shocker city. But i will say once you overclock the both 3400 new's (512) and 3500 new's they clock about the same duel channel wins, if your going in to 90nm's well thats different kettle of fish. I sould not of made my statement so broard, anyhow. But having said that i can post reviews who say the opposite to what your review said the 3500 beats out the 3400 in more cases so we will agree to dissagree (dont put much credence in reviews only what someone has owned to many variables) nerm carefull i may take that challenge, my bro just happens to have 3400 9800pro and we have had it way past 22k my 5900u ran 26900 on a 3500 in 01 anyhow guys be happy i love amd's too
Re: Re: Re: Re: 3400+ lol I am not worried as all of my scores are on complete stock cooling and stock thermal paste and I have higher scores the scores in my sig are just stable OC scores. I have had some suicide runs in 01 up around 25k+ but I don't keep suicide scores. Yes, in 01 a 3500 w/ DC is gonna have a better chance against a 3400 because 01 is such a bandwidth intense benchmark. EDIT: btw I agree with you on not trusting reviews. lol I am not going to mention site names but I know of MANY of sites that base performance reviews on products by personal preference instead of true statistical facts. EDIT #2: YES, the clawhammer version of the 3400+ was absolute $#!t infact IMHO most clawhammer version of all the s754 chips were aweful.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 3400+ now i agree with you nerm the newy is a far better cpu (754) the only point i will make is 200mhz is easy to negate duel mem controler is not but thats cool sorry i was not on the ball that day only just poping in now and then as i am flat out trying to get the new rig's up so i didnt read the whole thread, yeh i know i 'm a bad boy
Yes it is very easy to make up for the 200mhz, care to compare cpu benches since we're running at the same clock speed and my cpu pure s*&%? From what I can see, my cpu is doing hella good. I haven't tried finding it's max o/c yet either...(I have a 3400+ clawhammer)
Your bench's will be significantly higher than mine since you have an X800 series card and I have a 9800pro lol.....I will be more than happy to compare sandra and superPi bench's though PM me or start a new thread so we don't hijack this one any worse than it already has been.
