I wonder how many of Destiny 2's gameplay mechanics is Anthem going to inherit... was my first thoughts after learning about the news, especially now that EA is planning on release more video games on Steam. EA know there is untapped revenue there, if Anthem is transformed into something actually good, the players will come.
Well, it wouldn't make sense to change the two things that differentiate Anthem with Destiny 2 a that's the flying and the third person view. Also I have trouble thinking that Anthem would adopt Destinys level design since they're so different (even though both are quite vertical).
I don't mean the game being changed into an fps.. more to do with loot, if from what I understand is correct the loot system is one of the reasons for Anthems current predicament?
Oh right. The loot system is indeed strange and one doesn't understand everything either, but I don't feel like Destinys stat system is that clear either (or I'm just stupid which is quite possible )
Consult with the coin jar by my power bars I may hurrrr urr urr.... *not Am a lil wee tickled curious at the word of this remake or 2.0 I keep hearing of... gonna do some digging...if I hear I must re-buy the game. I'll probably have the equivalent response to a bug rolling over.
Electronic Arts to Decide Fate of Anthem Game This Week Will be interesting to see if BioWare can convince EA that the game is worth salvaging. After reading the article, I decided to look up what is known about the overhaul / Anthem 2.0. It seems optimistic, but that is based on very little. Vulk has a good writeup about it: What We Know About Anthem 2.0 So Far
I say they'll let it die and Anthem 2.0 with it. Any assets done could be used in the next Starwars game without problems.
They had the incredible Mass Effect franchise to work on, butched the job to focus on Anthem which ended up dropping the ball. Clearly Bioware need to get its act together.
there been no mangers at the company going back to inquisison it was chaos i had read here and there, with people amazed any game came out at all. and i thought inquisition was bloated tripe, never finished it never cared to. then the downward spiral with botched mismanaged projects. andromeda, anthem. both failed in similar ways for similar reasons.
That's sad. I didn't particularly dislike this game. I own it proudly at both PC and XBOX. Amazing visuals.
I guess I shouldn't laugh, but after reading up on what developing this "game" was like, I have no sympathy for it.
better of to remaster DA:Origins the right way, than to bring empty AAA titles like Andromeda or Anthem. best of luck in the future.
