So I just bought the Sonata II case and it arrived today, came with the Smart Power PSU.

Well it's rated 450 Watts and the ratings on each of the rails are:

    +5V = 30A
    +3.3V = 32A
    +12V(1) = 15A
    +12V(2) = 17A
    -12V = .3A
    +5V SB = 2.0A

So it has dual 12V rails, right? So it should have enough power for a single X1900XT?

I'm a little confused, I checked the PSU sticky and I think it just confused me a bit more x_x

Well... typically on dual rails, one is reserved for the CPU ATX 12V connector - the seperate 4 pin jobby.

The other has to power the GFX card, drives, and fans. Not easy with that much rail.

Hope this helps, can't give exact figures but I think you can see why you are having issues here.

Typically if you max out one of the supplies, the other is much reduced - a lot of PSUs have a figure of around 28A combined on both rails.

    Thanks, another (stupid) question though.

There's another cable coming out of the PSU labled "PCI-E" that looks like it would fit into my video card, but the manual for the X1900 says I should use the cable that splits the power to the Video card and the HDD.

Is there a purpose for that one PCI-E cable then? >_>
