This driver doesn't come with the Radeon Control Panel and once you reboot your PC Windows 10 downloads this



It also does not contain any of the relive features, like gifs, screenshots, recording and streaming.

Idk Why, it's keep failing to download with error "0x803FB005" trough windows store.

 

You can manually download the appx from other places, and simply install it. But you shouldn't get errorst, I just simply did DDU, Device Manager, Installed (on my PC didn't showed up just after restart).
It went the same with my laptop, exept that it installed from Windows store within seconds.

 

That's when the UWPPair isn't installed
Install it manually using the INF.

 

I've tried this. Download appx manually and installing UWPinf resulting my laptop in freezing state. So I create USB Win PE by disabling ULPS using Registry Hive to fix freezing problem and restart. The device manager says Error Code 43. I also using safemode method to try install UWP driver through device manager and and disabling ULPS, still showing error code 43. Reenable from device manager not working. So i use regular driver now.
The reason why i always disable ULPS at first place, because when it's active my laptop freezes, fail to boot, or bsod.

 

I had exactly the same problem, since I have a FX9830P with a r7 integrated and a RX 550, I always had BSOD, when I stopped gaming, or the laptop was idling, but it got fixed with recent versions. (even now, I forgot to disable ULPS but it still works fine, and I remember that it worked even before, like almost a year ago, while I had crashes like 2-3 years ago)

The instalation steps are simple, its very interesting that you still have device manager errors after DDU. Maybe broken windows?

 

Windows is fine, even on freshly installed os (applied to all windows 10 builds), only when installing radeon gpu driver laptop become freezing or stuttery unless ULPS is disabled since 17.11 and later. The GPU doesn't have a problem, tested gaming more than 8 hours without crashing.

I have old HD 8790M (yes is almost 8 years old) on Dell E6540 with i7 4800MQ variant. Yes this model knowed as "throttle hell". The only reason i picking this laptop because it was cheaper just $300 2nd hand with 8GB of ram and 256GB MSATA SSD, so i think this is worth laptop to buy.

I've tweaked a lot E6540 to maximum potential. Modified fan vents and replaced thermal paste with carbonaut, upgrading to 16GB of ram, undervolting with throttlestop, etc. I also managed 8790M overclocked to 1050/1000MHz and surprisingly the laptop just sustainable peaked at 67'C in CPU and GPU 74'C, still below 80'C. It's solid performer laptop almost 8 years old Haswell-GCN

For having problem with Sapphire Trixx or MSI Afterburner, There's Driver Version 21.3.2 uploaded too.

 

The 21.4.1 Breaks Sapphire Trixx Overlocking on my 8790M, i hope they release hotfix soon

 

IS it just me that I can't extend officia overclock limit anymore? I can't overclock my laptop GPU without this since there isn't the option in Radeon Settings. Now, if I enable it in MSI afterburner, it doesn't show a restart button and it disables itself when I go back to check.

That was i talking about. With recent version 21.4.1, i cannot overclock laptop gpu with Sapphire Trixx (6.5.0). In previous version 21.3.2 just fine. Hopefully they fix this bug soon on 21.4.2 Hotfix

I have TriXX 8.2

 

Not all affected, only on some laptop models. Like me Dell E6540, the only working overlock tools for 8790M is Trixx 6.5.0 (newer version of trixx requires sapphire card), since adrenaline ui doesn't show overdrive or tuning options. I tried MSI Afterburner too, but can only set power slider

i'm working for "parsing WHQL driver" for future relase, so no need for official driver first to get WHQL status
