I'll be buying into Zen regardless. I have an Athlon 5350 that needs to be retired.... A Zen based APU would be a good upgrade.

Agreed. I'm hoping performance will be solid and they won't push the date a bunch.

I don't think alot of the Intel fans here are really Intel fans they went to Intel because because they had to for an upgrade.

    Don't need one
Sadly that was my reason for buying an i7 4770

my last AMD CPU was the Phenom II x6 1090T BE which stood me in well and had for a few years.

But I wanted to pile a few quid in to my next build and AMD had nothing to offer at the time, so had no choice, other than intel, if I wanted an solid upgrade from my 1090T BE

oh better add, I have played around with their APU's A10 6800K and couple of other's A8's A6' A4's for fun, which systems I have since sold.

lol still got an old A6 APU laying around

People had no choice. Its eather going with Intel or bad framerate.

It will all be different when you can choose. Trust me, i would rather buy 8core Zen CPU than any 4core Skylake/Kaby Lake.

For that price i´ll be the first in line to get one! And if the price doesn´t go higher that 300€, then i´ll buy it the same! But if Zen costs more than 300€ or it´s garbage like Bulldozzer than i´m going to buy the I5 7600K...

It's 16 logical threads, not 16 physical cores.

Well, sometime next year, when Zen and big VEGA have already been launched, I plan to get an unlocked (please call it Black Editiion!!!) 8/16 core CPU and a TOTL Vega for a great experience gaming with a single card @3440x1440 at 75Hz + Freesync. Right now, I have a pair of R9 290X'es (in profile) which are pretty good for gaming at 3440x1440 for DX11 (and below) gaming with games that support CF, but DX12 looks like it'd be better suited for a single card since DX12 CF support isn't forthcoming from the developers.

I would take this article with a grain of salt cause they still don't know what it will be called, i would expect FX to be the moniker for unlocked. Since they are still using that for mobile parts, but i very much doubt K.
