Heh, how do you even encode and decode on HW level at the same time? Is it Adobe stuff?
Because when i try this (granted i cannot do this through Adobe, because f*ck their subscription and i have no access to HW HEVC encoder there.

Anyways, when i try to do such reencode, i hit HEAVY CPU limit
    upload_2023-5-29_2-11-28.png

But in any case, even i had power to decode without bottlenecking into CPU when reencoding, it would've been like 20-25 FPS at best. Granted it is reencoding into HEVC _10bit - quality preset... Which is quite heavy load.

P.S. still only about 15W of power for this reencode... On GPU, i mean))). CPU takes 106W to decode this monstrosity

P.P.S... And now i know that MPC-HC is quite messy between HW AV1 and HW HEVC_10bit decode. Some methods support HW decode of 10 bit HEVC but not AV1 and some vice versa...

P.P.P.S. Seems like RDNA2 overflows decoder load onto 3D renderer graph. 4k@60 HEVC goes 100% decode + 20-22% 3D load (on very low clocks, though). Total GPU power consumption is about 19W for that.

Installed this driver and so far can confirm the display corruption while switching between video and gaming (or any other) window is fixed in single-display.

Otherwise no problems to report and I wanna say I got a slight performance boost too in RE4 and GZDoom with Vulkan backend (compared to 23.4.2).

Yes I hear you ask what perf boost can you get for a doom source port, well, some modern maps have quite a bit of stuff in them.

    To give you an idea:
when I have 6x sprite and texture upscaling enabled (=multiplies VRAM usage by 36) and have selected to precache everything on load, a certain big slaughtermap ends up consuming 10 GB of VRAM at 1440p.

Not joking Let that sink in for a minute a Doom map eats up 10 GB of VRAM, lols.
Yes granted would be only little under 300 MB with upscaling turned off but just goes to show that modern doom source ports and maps can be quite taxing too depending on settings.

(In case anyone is wondering the map in question is map 15 of Sunder, quite a sight to behold).

You can stream HEVC to YouTube using OBS either via HSL or RTMP nowadays

Sometimes get really depressed talking to a wall posting about wow issues even tho multiple users also have issues 30+, but apparently nothing exist outside these forums, and AMD keeps on ignoring bug reports, why am i even bothering at this point.

Especially the GPU drivers push harder or less hard the system depending on the version. That can cause instability where there wasn't previously for the same system when there is RAM or GPU oced (or even UV for the GPU).

stability works both ways you cannot ignore software stability, this is why Linux is far more stable then Windows, even Arch Linux is more stable.

Why would it be less stable than other Linux distributions, it also gets fixes earlier.
It's not so much the OS, but that AMD embraced open-source nature of Linux drivers (mostly) with its advantages (transparency for any dev involved). Proprietary Nvidia Linux drivers are often way more unstable than Windows ones, kind of the worst of two worlds combined.

I have no crashes or errors. It's just some software incompatibility. And I'm sure since which build the problem occurs.
Of course, by your logic, we can blame the instability for all software problems.

Will you agree if I tell you that I have tried the Canary builds without any overclock (CPU and GPU) and the problem with the incompatibility still exists? DEV builds are ok.

Yep. Same here. Forza Horizon 5 completely locks up my PC now, and it hard resets itself. Rolled back to 23.4.2 and updated again to 23.5.1 to be sure, and froze my PC again and hard rebooted when launching the game. it’s definitely a driver issue.

Ok. I also un-installed, and re-installed, as well found going back to driver 23.4.2 had really bad HDR screen flicker issues, and found I still couldn't load into my save, even though I could load into the game now.

Forgot I was initially on 23.4.3, instead of 23.4.2, so went back to 23.4.3, and everything works good. You saying what you have, I may try 23.5.1 again, or just wait for the next driver update, as everything has been working great on 23.4.3, and have had little issues with this driver.

Make sure to do a bug report of forza horizon and if it happens on next driver bug report it again but also include this drop down menu

Been trying to bug report sons of the forest crashes but no luck even tho it 100% happens with 7900 XTX, it just gets ignored

Strange, I've never once crashed on my 7900XTX Pulse in Sons of the Forest.

I do, I just don't have this issue on latest drivers or the UWP test drivers on Windows 11 Windows X Lite build with my 7900XTX Pulse. I have a number of driver registry tweaks I run however and of course an extremely stripped down windows build.

I should mention I have my card set 2664mhz vram (2650 effective) min 2350 max 2750 and 1110mv voltage. Hardware acceleration in anything disabled, all amd overlay disable, logging disabled and well pretty much everything AMD disabled outside of freesync and enhanced sync on. Everything else set to default or disabled.

So you have everything disabled and you have no problems. :)

Just kidding. I wonder if the memory goes higher on XT cards than on XTX. My one runs well on 2750 (2736 effective), GPU 3000 max (~2750 effective), and 1020mv.

Does anyone know how can I fix these glitches I have with every AMD driver with Quake 1 RT 1.0.2:

I had terrible artifacts and game freezes in every King's Bounty (but do not mix it with King's Bounty II, it is different game), caused by high quality water settings, quite some time ago. Normal quality water run fine, on other hand. These games were based on DX9, so they are quite old.
But issue was fixed by AMD, and i don't even remember reporting it actually.

Maybe it's related to RDNA3. I don't have any glitches on 6900XT, on previous 23.4.2 drivers and now 23.5.1
