AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.10.2 - Driver Download and Discussion

AMD has received reports of some games triggering anti-cheat bans on gamers when AMD Anti-Lag+ technology is enabled on Radeon graphics. To address this, we have released the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.10.2 driver that disables Anti-Lag+ technology in all supported games, and we recommend gamers use the new driver. AMD is actively working with game developers on a resolution to re-enable Anti-Lag+ and to help reinstate gamers who were impacted by the anti-cheat bans. We will provide more information when available.

Fixed Issues

• Intermittent app crash while playing Starfield on Radeon™ RX 7000 Series Graphics Products.
• Intermittent driver crash while playing Counter Strike 2 with MSAA or FSR enabled on some AMD Graphics Products, such as the Radeon™ RX 7900 XTX.
• Improvements to stutter experienced while playing Counter Strike 2.
• EA SPORTS FC™ 24 may fail to open on some AMD Graphics Products, such as the Radeon™ RX 7800 XT.
• System freeze or black screen when playing video files on Radeon™ RX 6000 Series Graphics Products.
• The display may intermittently freeze after changing the encode format while streaming select games with AMD Link.
• Intermittent app crash in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® II when Radeon Anti-Lag is enabled.

Known Issues

• Performance Metrics Overlay may report N/A for FPS on various games.
• Audio may intermittently become out of sync with video when recording from AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition with AV1 codec.
• Corruption may be observed in Forza Motorsport when RT is enabled.
• Intermittent flickering may be briefly observed in Total War: Pharaoh’s menus after changing graphics settings.

Important Notes

• Factory Reset has been temporarily disabled as a precautionary measure while we address isolated installation issues that have been reported during PC upgrades. Users may use AMD Cleanup Utility as a temporary option.
• For users who previously installed an AMD Software insider preview driver, running AMD Cleanup Utility is recommended before installing this driver.

Anti-Lag+ has been replaced with Anti-Ban-.
At this occasion, they really should "return" it also for RDNA1+ users to make up for their screw-ups.

 

Was it necessary to disable antilag+ completely even for single player games?

 

Indeed why disable anti lag+ for all games when only one is the issue lol

Btw i will continue to use only afmf preview drivers.

 

Now we want it on RDNA2 at least after fix

I hope they will re-release it in the game as it should have been in the first place.

 

Is it worth updating or it's the same driver as 10.1 without Anti Lag+?

 

Perhaps they should push Microsoft to support anti-lag+ and NVIDIA reflex at directx level so it can be enabled in all directx games without any issues with anti-cheat, perhaps do the same if possible with upscallers and framegeneration and call it directx 12.1 ultimate perhaps or just directx 13

Did they remove anti-lag+ support in 23.10.2 ? there no mention of it.

I wonder if they will update afmf preview driver as well actually bit woried that afmf it self may trigger anti cheat as well.

 

First - "Reset Factory". Now - "AntiLag+". What will be the next AMD's bug fix?

 

AFMF tech preview pulled cos it triggers anti-cheat as well altho i have no idea if it tampers with game engine i suspect not cos fps reports a framerate without FMF

 

They couldn't even work with Microsoft to fix the wattman reset bug that has been in windows insider builds for months. I wish them good luck with that.

 

Oh trust me its been around much longer then that.

 

Yeah but that was different. The other time it was a different bug that happened when fast boot was enabled. That was fixed a long time ago.

 

Since February it's the same WattMan reset bug. Since MS has reworked the File Explorer with new features.

 

The wattman reset bug i know of was result of the broken PCI Bus driver that i found trick for to not install, that does not install on my liquid devil 7900 XTX anymore, either cos its only rdna2 that installs it or more likely because my 6900 XT has USB Type C and my 7900 XTX does not.

Wattman is very sensitive to broken stuff, even if its totally unrelated to gpu stability AMD needs to fix this on their end.

 

It shouldn't, anticheat only kicks in when the game itself is tampered with or it detects black listed tools, anti-lag+ modifies the execution of the game its enabled for., amd and nvidia do things like MLAA,NIS, and fidelityFX CAS and despite being an added post process not unlike what something like reshade does, but they don't cause bans, this is because its added "ontop" of the application, and doesn't interfere with the execution of the game itself, I'm 99.9% sure AFMF falls into this same category.

 

No reports so far but if there was i probably be the first to let everyone know
