AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.1.2 for AMD Radeon™ RX 7900 Series

As I understand it, the drivers will only be for version 7900, the rest, then how?

 

Unless you've seen an official statement from amd saying this then I'm sure it's safe to say its not the case. Stuns me how impatient people are being regarding this, maybe amds got everyone addicted to driver updates

I got a bunch of strange issues too.
AF forced does actually disable AF even in dx11 titles (set it off global and voila, AF is back). Triple buffering/enhanced sync does not always work, ie 30 fps when 60 fps is not reached with a 60 hz monitor. Sometimes borderless screen or alt tab let it kick in.
GPU utilisation is sometimes fairly low, or clocks do not ramp up to their max.

I guess there is still a lot of driverwork to be done and I think perf will improve quite a lot in certain games. (if it caused by global issues and not specifisic game issues in case of old games, beacause I doubt they get game optimisation if there are old).
The 7900 has a lot of potential, in some scenario's its very fast. I bet AMD's about perf claims will true, only not right now.

 

Wow. I had no idea this was screwing things up so bad. I couldn't figure out what was bogging me down and way less CPU utilization after installing the 7900. Stability is better as well. Thank you.

 

I would like to report that 23.1.2 work perfect for Control and Alan Wake Remastered in DX12 (on 5700 XT).

 

After the update to the next 25295 build, the problem still exists.

 

Good thing that you are on a insider build. Maybe they fix it before it becomes a public build...

 

My wife's pc on 23.1.2 with a 6800XT and the latest insider build dev channel actually does not have this problem. Her OC settings are persistent regardless of reboot

 

There is no such driver (23.1.2. for 6000 cards). It's a modded driver which obviously doesn't work the same way.

you are referring to wattman btw which is part of the CCC package which is not modified.

 

Downloaded from the official 23.1.2 driver is cannot be installed for 6000.

 

Also btw the wattman reset on boot has occurred for years, most often it's from unstable bios settings. Wattman will also reset to default on a failed proper boot, which sometimes occurs from fast startup enabled.

 

Doesn't matter. Never said a word about official drivers or not. Wattman is not part of the driver package, it is part of the CCC install package which is not modified by anyone. Wattmans built in protection is to reset to default on pc boot if it detects any boot abnormality. It's an issue that's been going for years it's not new

 

Hogwarts Legacy has been launched today, but there is still no new AMD driver optimized for this game.

I started playing Hogwarts Legacy, my card is 7900 XT, driver 23.1.2.
There are some texture rendering issues.
Maybe new AMD drivers 23.2.1 can improve or optimize this game.

Turn material to low. But yeah with AMDs release schedule it's unlikely for .1 to be the Hogwarts driver and more likely to be .2

 

AMD no longer wants us to play :O 6xxx series are FORGOTTEN (the game) and Hogwarts (LEGAGY) the will be....

 

Had to reinstall 23.1.2 today after a windows update amd software wouldn't work

 

We remember someone saying that the new RX 6000 driver will arrive in 2 weeks.
