    Fixed Issues
    • Elite Dangerous may crash upon launch on Radeon™ RX 6000 series GPUs.
    • Black screen may occur during driver upgrade or settings reset using Microsoft® Windows® 11 version 22H2 on Radeon™ RX 6000 series GPUs.
    • Lower than expected performance on Gotham Knights™ using AMD Processors on some AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon™ RX 6950 XT.

Disabling MPO (Multiplace Overlay) can improve some desktop apps flicker or stutter issues.
    • Stuttering or screen flickers may occur during video playback using hardware acceleration with Chrome.
    • Blackscreens may occur when alt tabbing from game (or Apps. Like Whatsapp) to browser that has video on loop.
    • Some desktop apps may flicker or stutter when resizing the window on some PC configurations.
These issues still affect some people. You can try disabling MPO (Multiplace Overlay) to improve the situation.

The MPO (Multiplace Overlay) toggle has been added to the latest version of the Radeon Setup Tool.

Of course you can also disable MPO (Multiplace Overlay) manually. Methods as below:

Download the registry file "mpo_disable.reg" from the HERE section below and proceed to double-click on the file to add it to your system registry. This registry file will disable multiplane overlay. After adding the registry file, reboot your PC to complete the changes. If the flicker persists, you may restore multiplane overlay by downloading the file "mpo_restore.reg" and then proceed to double-click on the file to add it to your registry.

  2. Can Variable Rate Shading be forced for other games on Windows? On Linux I think there's some RADV flag for it to easily use anywhere.

Or is that what Radeon Boost is? If I enable Radeon Boost globally, would it apply to games not mentioned on this list? Basically, would it have applied to DL2 prior to these drivers if I manually enabled it?

Interesting AMD highlights but more weirdnesses throwed at NVIDIA and Activision silence.

Enabled manually only applied to specific games listed on AMD site. Orginally it works as a dynamic resolution scaler which is activated during "intensive game moment".

    Followed AMD:
"this feature now takes advantage of the variable rate shading hardware found on the Radeon™ RX 6000 series graphics cards and supported DirectX® 12 titles delivering extra performance and increased responsiveness while you play"

Did an upgrade through the control panel as usual and it installed just fine other than my overclock settings being defaulted which has happened with the last few driver installs as well; not a big deal as I just load the saved profile and everything is good again. I ran 3dmark Time Spy and got one of my best results ever, and is on par with 22.10.2, so this driver is super solid in performance at least in this synthetic test. Will play some games and hopefully get it on my laptop soon to see if it is good for mobile as well. Been loving these pristine drivers from AMD for quite some time now so I will hazard a guess that these are going to be rock solid for me as usual.

    6800 XT / i7 8086k / Win 10 Pro x64 22H2 / 22.10.3

    Time Spy:

    Overall - 17 617
    Graphics - 21 026
    CPU - 9 183

  9. Did you do the scan and repair? Also did you clean-install this driver? Maybe clear the shader cache?

Use DDU to uninstall drivers in safe mode, disconnect from internet, and install the latest drivers in normal windows mode (not safe mode).

Also, you are using an R9 290X, AMD basically abandoned all GCN GPU's. I would look into using Nimez modded drivers for better support of your card.

I just recommend everyone use older drivers if you're having issues with openGL in certain apps/games. I'm using Pro driver 21.q4 which is the best driver for me. I honestly don't see any newer improvements to opengl until either the end of this year or next year. But who knows.

Had to do a repair/reinstall as noise suppression wouldn't work from first install after doing ddu

Seems better than the last one?
No chrome stutter (while scrolling/hovering links)
Twitch videos doesn't stutter like crazy anymore.
    No driver timeout yet.
(yes I reverted mpo back to default)

    //edit
ops, forgot to change angle back to default.
    Chrome stutter is still there.
    Hovering/scrolling.
DX9 angle mode seems to fix it.

    //edit2
Mouse cursor stuttering is also still there when a game is running and tabbing out
So MPO disable it is again.
