Fair enough. It's not ideal, but I can live with it. I have a 12600K and can't say I'm noticing any slow downs at 1440p on any of my apps with HWA turned off and dual monitors.

Still, would be great if AMD could just fix it. Having gone from the RTX 2080 to RX 6800XT, at this point my next card will be another RTX

thats not resolving the issue, its working around it.

PreEmption is a requirement on 8 and 10 drivers, this regkey is a holdover from windows 7.

I have an offtopic question about windows meltdown, spectre mitigations.
On a clean windows install none of the two reg keys FeatureSettingsOverride/FeatureSettingsOverrideMask are present.
Which means by default meltdown and spectre migations are enabled?
    On this page:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-au...bilities-2f965763-00e2-8f98-b632-0d96f30c8c8e
There are two possible config options for amd listed.
None of them include meltdown. (because not needed?)
Does this mean when by default the meltdown mitigation is enabled, it may hinder perfomance on an amd system?

    //edit
    interesting..
I installed the HD Audio Device and Bus Drivers from the 22.10.1 package to replace the 22.5.1 included ones and soon after I got and driver timeout.

sadly 22.5.1 is ****** hardware acceleration too. watching imbed youtube videos makes the mouse cursor laggy as hell, I checked the same video on my laptop with 970m, smooth. I disabled hardware acceleration with 6900xt and it's smooth. I also had a black screen after just 1 min of watching movies like that. stupid freaking as AMD, THIS IS WHQL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even opening DISCORD was LAGGY as hell, makes the mouse move weird as hell

Freaking everything works better without Hardware Acceleration enabled.......... unbelievable, AMD LOST ME FOREVER

Same here. Still 22.10.1 < 22.5.1 in stability, but Opera GX PIP and Discord can timeout graphics drivers. On newer drivers it's almost 100% guaranteed crash, 22.5.1 have more resist it's more like 30% for crash.

Is there a difference between what Discord is doing for hardware-acceleration, vs browsers, and Steam?

This could be completely unrelated, but on Linux with a 6600 XT Keybase (Electron) while running in the background caused AMDGPU to crash seemingly at random (issue). I don't recall messing with Keybase on Windows, Discord, or any other Electron apps while using the 6600 XT. Steam with HW acceleration had zero issues on Windows and Linux, and Firefox with HW acceleration on Windows was fine too.

Exactly why I returned my rx 6700xt after having so many issues with it like flickering, timeouts and freezing. I'm now again looking for a new gpu but I can't even consider Nvidia anymore after the over pricing of their cards and insane power usage so I'm just hoping AMD can get their crap together so I can consider them as a buy.

I think the people with HW Accel issues should post their specs in another thread and let's see what system combos are working, and which aren't, and see what BIOS they are on, and what chipset packages they are using. Also post what software apps they use that are crashing.

I just want to let yall know how amazing you are. Switched to Team Red 2 days ago with 6800XT, DDUed Nvidia drivers, installed latest Radeon ones. At first, there were some very annoying bugs but it was usable, but today, after trying to enable Settings => Graphics => Advanced => 10-Bit Pixel Format and restarting PC my driver install got completely rekt. Disabling it didn't help. Couldn't use Chrome to download 22.5.1 being praised here as the last stable one, had to DDU and reinstall 22.10.1 to even do so.

But after installing 22.5.1, everything seems to be working properly. List of reproducible bugs fixed for me by switching from 22.10.1 to 22.5.1:
    - Mouse cursor becoming fully white (consistently inside white textarea fields on webpages, inconsistently in Citrix on white backgrounds, Citrix seems to be using a webview engine so it was probably somehow hardware-acceleration related)
    - Entire system lagging when Heaven benchmark (with maxed out settings, but I doubt that's important) is running, both in DX11 and OpenGL mode, while CPU is doing nothing. It didn't happen always on 22.10.1 but like 9 times out of 10, sometimes restarting Heaven helped fix it. Didn't happen only in Heaven, sometimes it just lagged randomly for seemingly no reason at all. Now it doesn't happen.
UPD: Nevermind, it still happens in Heaven sometimes, not sure how normal it is
    - Well, and this one. Display may briefly show corruption when switching between video and game windows on some AMD Graphics Products such as the Radeon™ RX 6700 XT. [Resolution targeted for 22.10.2]

Haven't tested 10-Bit Pixel Format on 22.5.1 yet but submitted it as bug on 22.10.1.
UPD: There's no such option in 22.5.1

I still have a weird bug in Battlefield 1 where my keys just depress randomly. Only happens in BF1, never happened on 1050Ti. No idea what's causing it.

Might be a good idea. Because I don't have any issues with it right now in Chrome,Firefox and Discord. I have disabled it in the past, but it has been working fine for the last... long as I can remember now.

10-bit Pixel Format isn't the same as enabling 10bit color depth. In fact on AMD it is recommended NOT to enable this unless you are using some application that requires it.

These driver I found weren't even smooth for 1080 Youtube, let alone 4k, stutter stutter.
I was using 22.8.1 for a long time, they worked well, but one game I played had mad graphic issues. 22.10.1 had the same graphic issue.
22.5.1 Are stable without the graphic issue, but lacking Sharpening with Radeon Super Resolution enabled and seem to just look worse in comparison to 22.8.1.

Got it, thanks, that makes sense since enabling 10-bit pixel format is said to disable HDR capability, should've done more research instead of believing the first upvoted reddit comment

Hope every1's using the bug report tool for issues otherwise complaining on here is about as useful as tits on a bull.

Haven't had any driver issues since the whole AMD's Ryzen Master module in Adrenalin version 21.9.1 to 22.3.1 thing, which think was fixed in 22.4.1 or 22.5.1.

Latest AGESA v2 1.2.0.7 and all drivers, now minus 4 old platter storage drives. Altho W11 22H2 has cut off my ram rgb app so needs an update.

When Windows boots and gets to the login screen, my display indicates HDR briefly before going back to SDR (I have HDR disabled in Windows). I've seen this happen with NVIDIA with the default Jan 2022(?) driver that's pulled-in from WU, but it doesn't happen on later drivers seemingly. This has happened on AMD for as long as I can remember before RDNA2 with a RX 580, and happens today with these drivers with a 6600 XT.

Is there a reason why this happens and any way to workaround it?
