Just wait until Blue Jackolope for 36 core.
I do some music and video production. The only games I really play probably wouldn't be limited much by a lower clocked AMD cpu.
One of these might be right up my alley.
There are three currently. This tock-tick cycle got three tocks (yay refreshes).
Sandy Bridge-tock 32nm
Ivy Bridge-tick 22nm
Haswell-tock (devils cannon was haswell)22nm
Sky Lake-tock 14nm
Kaby Lake-tock 14nm
Coffee Lake-tock 14nm
Ice Lake-tick 10nm
Awesome package, dont know why half the posts in here was about intel.
Once again we get hideously ripped off here in New Zealand the Threadripper 1920X = $1,349.00 or the 1950X which is whopping $1,669.00 add to that $1,179.00 for the Asus ROG ZENITH EXTREME X399 and not to mention DDR4 $469.00 for a quad Chanel kit of 32GB and you can see that it's getting really expensive really quick
Assuming those prices are in NZD and not USD, that is pretty high. You're paying roughly $600 USD extra. It might be cheaper for you to buy these parts from an Australian or Japanese friend, maybe even an American.
How much would an Intel system cost?
