This leak is a bit suspect - it has the stink of WCCF-type clickbait. That being said, I do hope it's true.

I am very curious to see what happens with Zen 2 on the X399 side of things. I won't link it directly, but on OCN there was someone doing working on the MSI x399 MEG bios who found references to additional processors added in the November bios update. In short, I am expecting Zen2 based TR4 coming to the MEG motherboard, potentially to other existing X399 boards assuming there isn't some voltage / VRM limitation

TDP can be adjusted down on all Ryzens. It is MB and its BIOS which should have that option. And CPU/iGPU adheres to those limits way too perfectly.
Therefore you can get older and cheaper 2200G... That's since you want low power and therefore not expecting magical performance.

I did limit clock of 2400G (4C/8T) to 3.6GHz which caped it somewhere around 40W. And I left iGPU at default clock. I undervolted both a bit. It did easily fit default 95W. Even in games it was like 55~75W mostly. When playing movies APU did not really had problems to stay under 25W (HWiNFO64). And that was with 2 screens (120Hz & 240Hz).

I did measure entire system power draw and at idle it was under 30W on wall socket. And under full load under 110W. With single screen I would expect idle power draw to be even lower. System is now used by my father as multimedia center.

Even while it is for media center, go with dual channel memory configuration. 2x8GB I put into system is far more than needed. Therefore 2x4GB is just enough. Using just one stick did reduce APUs performance by good 40% in combined workloads.

    wait, what.....

I've barely bought a tr4 motherboard, and I have not bought the processor yet, and now the am4 socket will be better for the quality price?

You have no idea what the IPC of Zen2 is, and you're "LOL"ing?

Can't tell if you're just a troll, or delusional.

Need to look again in my Asrock bios for Ryzen 1700, could not find it last time i looked.
The low power models tend to be cheaper then a full power CPU because it is generally slower, but if the price is the same I could always make custom power stages, but it would be hard to copy the short bursts Intel does on there laptops for example.

ASRock has it on less intuitive place than others. MSI is most noob friendly and therefore has easiest navigation. Gigabyte has it usually easily found too.
I'll chek my BIOS and post photo.

That's not kind of leading retailer with exclusive preorders. Be it DNS or Citilink, would be real, but this is just a clickbait.
