AMD's APU desktop Ryzen 7 5700G and 5600G Ryzen 5 have begun to appear in retail outlets at an unexpected. slightly higher than expected.... AMD Ryzen 7 5700G and Ryzen 5 5600G APUs to be released soon, pricing is off?
I am yet to upgrade my 3400G powering my HTPC. Seeing all those APUs at these prices, makes me wonder if I will upgrade, if at all. More, for a HTPC, 3400G is more than enough, reason for upgrade will me more performance in the GPU. However, if the new APUs bring refined and tuned Vega cores, I am not surprised, but not pleased at all. I understand the reasons why Navi will not be integrated in those APUs, but that doesn't mean I agree or I like that. A man can only wish so much.
I'm with anticupidon on still stuck on the 2400g would like something with more igpu grunt I think I got a bit of a lemon on the oc of this thing only does 1400mhz core and 3266 memory(flarex). I don't really see these as much of an upgrade tho in terms of gpu I'd like to see a cheaper option with less cpu and more gpu 8 cores tied to such a low end gpu is super unbalanced.
Will they fit inside my HTPC? No, that's for sure. However, the hardware alternative offered is sound enough.
let's maybe stop calling them new apu's vega was new 4 years ago. now it's just throwing us scraps and wishing someone is dumb enough to buy it. htpc isn't a thing anymore. not with series s. 20cu rdna2 vs 8cu vega ? let me think about it......(insert brainlet meme)
Well considering i have a B450 mini itx that supports this, why would i buy a pos intel board and got 1030.
I would imagine one buying 5700g for an igpu. Otherwise it makes no sense. It costs more than 5800x ffs.
funny how a while ago everyone said amd apu's are gonna be the future. heh. at this point it's better to buy a rkl cpu from intel and pair it with nvidia's lowest tier gpu, that's how bad value they are. not to mention consoles and geforce now are competely crushing them in value.
i bet intel is gonna have them earlier on tsmc6n .that's how effin slow amd is. really ? cause the igpu part is the worst thing about it.cpu is quite good, and it's an 8/16. it's the igpu part that costs premium and performs like a 4 year old 2400g actually. zero progress, three times the price.
Oh I know lol I'd be happy with a 3rd gen quad APU honestly. Im pissing around. I still cant bring myself to buy anything intel. Not when any SKU of ryzen overclocks, and you can coverlcock with a $70 budget B series board.
RDNA will come to APUs when DDR5 is available. No sense on changing from Vega to RDNA if DDR4 will limit RDNA's performance to Vega levels. Not saying that I wouldn't like to see RDNA APUs ASAP, just being sensible.
Unless I'm mistaken, which is always a real possibility, these APUs haven't been "officially" released yet. Is it really so surprising to learn that a few retailers who have elected to jump the gun, and offer them early, feel entirely entitled to jack the price up to appeal to the desperate and/or curious?
