Holy crap those prices. You can buy a 3900x for 400$ right now and be done with it.

Was hoping the 5000 series would push the 3000 series prices down, but this does not look like that would be the case.
Hopefully these prices are just temporary higher then normal to grab all the "first" buyers during the high demand, low stock launch period.

@Goiur you'll be surprised how cheaper are hard drives (as an example) on Amazon.de comparing to PcComponentes or Amazon.es

    Thats pretty high though.

Im seeing 3700x at 250euro and 3900x at 385euro already. Thats not bad at all for anyone who dont want to spend more on zen3.

Posted that for the 5000 series, its a small store so they take their time to update pricing lol Anyway, I will edit the photo showing only 5000 series and include de 5600.

Hopefully just launch prices and not a return to athlon64 era when AMD was dominating.
On the other hand without much competition from Intel why should they had better prices?

well...the 3900X is looking real good right now for those that need 24 threads, that is. I can't decide whether the 5000 series will reduce in price after the initial launch frenzy or Zen 2 will increase because of its exceptional value vs Zen 3. There doesn't seem to be any place for the 5800X, or even the 5600X for those looking to build a new system, with Intel offering more compelling products at cheaper prices. Quite the turn around.

Last time amd was dominating this hard was in 2005 with their Fx-57 and Fx-60. It was 1,200$ monster of a cpu and the last time amd was more expensive than intel (until now).

That's what I used to think but it's all about the VAT. Take the 5950X as example and compare it to the Finnish price. It's $800 ~ €677 + a whopping 24% VAT Rate (GG Finland) = €839. Now AFAIK, the USD prices don't include sales tax as not all states have one and they're different from state to state. In my country, the VAT rate is 18% but I will never buy electronics from here because shops add a minimum of €100 to the price. So computeruniverse is the saviour since you can buy at the VAT rate of your shipping location even though the etailer is located in Germany (GG computeruniverse).

I wonder who´s the portuguese store who´s already selling the CPUs because i can´t find it.

Anyway the prices of the 5800x and the 3600x are a turn off in terms of value compared to the 3000 series. Maybe AMD will "fix" this with the release of the non "x" parts.

You have to wait for them to actually come available, usually takes a couple months before price drops too.
I think AMD has positioned Ryzen 5000 not to replace but to play alongside Ryzen 3000.
You want price drops? Wait till January, that's probably when we will hear about Ryzen 5600 (non X) and maybe price cuts.

I'm guessing since the Nertherland (and Ireland) are tax havens inside Europe (ruining other countries' opportunities), the government needs to get finance from other places, so other seemingly unrelated things end up being more expensive.

Without a European-wide physicality, there's no way other countries will be able to compete with tax haven countries, and if all countries turn to tax havens, Europe will end up being the mess that the US is.

Expensive (kind of) but if the independent reviewers show that there's enough performance to back the price, then they are what they are.
I'll be skipping this generation altogether since I'm on an X370 board, though a drop on the 3xxx series prices would make them a good investment before moving to a new platform in 2021.
A 3700x at around 220€ in a month or two would be a fair deal.

It's Central point, the day that other etailers start listing prices will drop as they've always have. This news item is more about the exorbitant prices etailers will try to charge in the initial launch wave and pre-order.
