Update: the random stuttering/framerate drop (-5fps) has been fix by enabling hardware accelerated gpu scheduling.

This is because 'experimental' support is reported in Dev channel builds, as in all recent Adrenalin drives, so the UI controls will not appear in Settings.

GPU-Z does not support WDDM 2.9 caps to report this new support state - you have to look up DxDiag text output (Save All button):

    Hardware Scheduling: DriverSupportState:Experimental Enabled:False

HAGS should work fine in 1904x builds (20H1, 20H2, 21H1) though.

I'd file a report in GPU-Z support forums but they banned my entire IP range from registering...

yes i did use ddu before letting it update the drivers

not bothered though, what does it even do? never noticed any difference on or off before

I just installed 19043.1081 (21H1) and HAGS is there:

    hags.jpg

    hags2.jpg

Just WDDM version is 2.7 instead of 3.0 as it was on 21390.2025 build (but no HAGS was there).

could you please check Mesh Shader feature test in 3DMark and tell me what fps you get?

you likely still have old radeon settings still installed

uninstall all instances through the start menu and add/remove programs then duu in safemode, reboot and let windows install the driver
you will need the windows store enabled but not needed be logged in and it will install the uwp control panel

There is little user-visible impact, and this is by design. Just reduced latencies (lag) due to less buffering and smaller CPU overhead.

They also said HAGS is a foundation for some yet undisclosed feature.

WDDM 3.0 has to be supported by both OS kernel driver (DXGK) and the video driver, so you have to run Cobalt branch (21xxx) from Dev Channel.

Who knows, 'Cobalt' SDK/WDK has not been released yet, it's been delayed for 7 months now.

There were 'Manganese' and 'Iron' WDK releases and these have WDDM 2.8 and 2.9 with some minor improvements.

Must be someting else, SM 6.6 'release' (i.e. not 'experimental') requires WDDM 2.8 in the 'Manganese' branch, and FL 12_2 requires WDDM 2.9 in the 'Iron' branch.

Note that 2.8/2.9 compliant drivers were still reporting WDDM version 2.7 in the caps, but you can nevertheless use these drivers with the DX12 Agility SDK runtime and still get SM 6.6 and FL 12_2 (but only in applications that explicitly support the Agility SDK).

The superposition benchmark with HAGS on stutters the most and worst for me. Can someone else test it? With HAGS off this driver is one of the top performers in DX11 beside 12.2.3, likewise though with HAGS on the best performer in DX12/Vulkan.

This is the first driver that has a shader cache for Vulkan that persists across reboots and has Anti-Lag for D3D12 at the same time. Though RT reflections in Watch Dogs Legion show corruption (and worse performance, it seems). Not sure if this driver has fixed occasional driver crashes with RT + temporal upsampling in Legion due to the former issue. Denoising for raytracing reflections in Control is still broken in the "basalt" dimension. Hitman 2 D3D12 CPU performance with CAM is still bad. Trine 4 still has corruption with DXVK. Fifo vsync with Vulkan still has bad presentation timing/flipping with high GPU load (not a regression, has always been bad with amdvlk). Radeon Settings still occasionally crashes in the background. Days Gone still has bad stutter with D3D11 that is eliminated by DXVK. Red Dead Redemption 2 CPU performance is still broken with CAM. atiesrxx.exe service still causes stutter in Trine 4 with vsync. Haven't yet tried if Anno 1800 D3D12 still crashes after the first run due to folder content of d3dscache and if Horizon Zero Dawn or Metro Exodus still always recompile all shaders every time, as they don't find the (non-existent?) D3D12 driver shader cache (very likely unchanged).

Hope next consumer driver will be better, AMD's Windows driver is wearing me out...

There is also a setting for checking SAM status from the UWP control panel, but the report is interesting. Even with Resizable BAR enabled in BIOS and the large memory range, AMD reports it as not available (it's possible it shows something different for actual supported GPUs):
