I have always wondered if PRO drivers include game optimizations.

This is a OEM legacy drive.

AMD Radeon RX 6000 series can't install it.

My friend makes a good point about this issue, AMD are just confusing people with Radeon software installation and need to make things clear for people.

SAM, RSR and etc are available if you use full installation, if you select Minimal Install then you won't get SAM, RSR, Relive, AMD Link, OC, Fan tuning, etc.

Co-workers at work point that out and got me thinking they are right about SAM and RSR not working in Minimal Install mode.

SAM is enabled by default on supported configurations and it's working even with minimal install or "bare driver" install

  6. Does anyone here actually use the Minimal install option?

It's silly Minimal doesn't include Wattman. The only situations I imagine are either the full install with Wattman, or a driver-only install with Afterburner and/or other 3rd-party tools. AMD has a sane Minimal install with the UWP control panel (when it's usable) where it includes Wattman, but none of the ReLive bulk. Why is this not presented in the normal drivers?

I prefer NVIDIA's approach with their no-frills control panel, and a separate install with GFE for overclocking, streaming, and other stuff.

Edit: AMD should have bought Evolve before they went under and integrated the features of it instead of trying to half-ass whatever they did with Raptr as long as they did. They could have had a gaming client that was miles ahead of Discord, and had the streaming and recording functionality already done. "Gaming Evolved", "Evolve", the red color scheme, it would have been perfect.

It would be cool if there was a custom install where you could select the components you need.

I always got higher framerates and better stability in Pro drivers. All i use are workstation GPU's for gaming though, but i do have a RX 570 8GB and always still got better performance using Pro drivers. Nothing wrong with using Adrenalin though, i just get better performance and stability most of the time using pro drivers.

I have notice though using my Radeon Pro W5500, that card is kinda tricky when it comes to the right drivers. I have tested every driver with that card and the best and more stable two are Adrenalin 20.8.1 and 20.9.1. The newest drivers both Adrenalin and Pro works just fine with it, but the older drivers works better with that card. I'm buying a Radeon Pro W5700 soon though for my secondary rig, 20.9.1 i plan to use for it. I like the older AMD CP better than the new one. Wish we could use the older AMD CP for the newer cards. If anyone knows a way let me know haha.

I like the very very old ATI Catalyst with tons of settings (including AVIVO).

BTW, I still stay without my lovely 6800XT because of the horrible PowerColor (reseller) support in Bulgaria.

It's better to ask such questions in AMD support.
This is the latest UWP version from the insider preview channel. I'm talking about version 31.0.12027.6013.

I didn't ask you directly, more like a general confusion question.
    Don't worry.

I still haven't seen an UWP driver for 7900 cards.
