Same were, VSR is working under 16.4.1 in a HD7870 connected to a monitor via DVI.

Yeah we know that they are abandoned and we most likely won't get any more drivers for these legacy cards, but the argument from Emsir was about whether or not Crimson 16.2.1 could be installed on 6000 series at all. It definitely can, even though your right that it is probably the last one we will see.

From the exact link you gave:

Seems pretty clear to me, especially since I'm also running Crimson 16.2.1 on a 6950.
To keep on topic, this 16.4.1 set and the other Crimsons also work with the same 6950 but you have to use FLEM for anything newer than 16.2.1.

So thats it. It seems that its connection type restricted also.
So you need compatible graphic card (GCN) software (first introduced I supposed in 15.12) and proper connection, with is probably restricted to DVI/HDMI, as on my prevously old lcd monitor with DVI cable it was working just fine.

My trusty Asus 7870 is connected via DP-miniDP cable, and never had higher resolution than default, even with 15.x drivers.

We were thinking of trying to mix the 16.2.1 kernel with the files from 16.4.1 but haven't had a proper shot yet. Not even sure if it is worth it to be honest.

Aww, such a misunderstanding, I didn't get yours point :bang:. For me, legacy cards aren't supported cuz they won't get any newer driver.
    You're right.

I still don't get how I get better scores than you. Surely Hyperthreading can't amount for that much.

I had to roll back to the 16.3.1 driver's as these are horrible

Fifa 16 slowed to a crawl for no reason, firestrike demo showed corruption of vram even at stock as well as crashed after the physics test and american truck sim slows to a crawl at times too

rolled back and all is well again

What about graphics score? It cant be much higher than 9.6k for a Tahiti GPU.

Just played almost an hour of Fifa 16 to test, not a single issue. As smooth as it was with other drivers. So from my end with my hardware, no issues with Fifa 16.

Reverted back to 16.3.2 for working game profiles. 16.4.1 have to be forced globally. Besides had higher firestrike score, 200 points more on the 16.3.2.

This is what I got (within the margin of error) with Firestrike and this driver (I'll get to updating Firestrike tonight).

Still, 13k+ on graphics score. Your 290 is vastly superior than PrMinister 280X even though overall score is not that big of a difference.

Something isn't right at your end, your mantle and dx12 drawcalls are way too low for an i7.

You have a 290, Tahiti has 2 ACEs, your card has 8.

    Nice.

    Edit:
    290 PCS+ is the best performing 290.
