Might have that too. Plus the double tray icon issue from a few drivers back. Gonna have to DDU I think and see if they persist.

yep, I guess the driver is at fault cos' I remember reading one forum discussion about Stardock Curtains months ago, when I tried to resolve that problem (I gave up since), and it implied that the problem was on AMD side, NViDiA cards perfectly display that simple aero effect and Radeon doesn't.

the effect when it's working :

    R.a8e477342ba95f7150fbb98163c9002a (3840×2160) (bing.com)

99.99% of the times, for me, it's plain gray ... then the miraculous explorer crash happens and the effect is back ... until next reboot -_-

PS : and also, sorry for the verbiage, I can express myself in many langages, but english is not my main, and I commit a lot of mistakes, I'm not as fluent in it as I am in my main.

Not having a go or anything, but the issue on the driver changelog pertained to Windows' native Acrylic transparency effects, which I don't believe are related to this third party plugin.
Have the plugin developers chimed in and ruled this out from being an app-side issue?

I don't know, and at this point, I don't really care ^^ I'll wait for app and drivers updates and, in a near future, I'll do what I do for the past 25 years or so, I'll switch back to NViDiA for a while and the effect will work again ^^

That is for the May Preview driver not 22.5.1 so I think you are posting in the wrong thread for that information; the results you are looking for are compared to the 22.5.1 driver iirc.

As with the all previous 22.x whqls or the May preview driver on my RX480, the moment I set mpc-hc/mpc-be to fullscreen (non exclusive) and mess with the seek bar by clicking in many timeline positions in a short time while playing a video, the whole desktop will become sluggish until I reinitialize the driver or re-login (lag dragging windows, slow response on right click context menus, etc). Only way to prevent it is to disable Freesync (Dell S2421HS) on the amd display settings. Creating a mpc profile with Freesync disabled does nothing (it'll remain activated, see bellow). Old 21.10.2 whql behave ok*.
*edit: To add to the above, 22.2.3 beta is also ok. Lag issue seems to start from 22.3.1 whql.

Also, there's something wrong with the mpc-hc/be behavior in non exclusive fullscreen when Freesync is on. Vsync will always fail after a bit, so there will be a permanent misaligned tear at the top of the screen. Other than completely disabling Freesync (creating an mpc profile with Freesync disabled does nothing), or resorting to exclusive fullscreen, the only other workaround is to force flip/flipEx as presentation mode under mpc-be instead of Copy. This issue has been present since I got the monitor last year.

    I'll submit this shortly...

And wth, after running the driver setup the old control panel "Progams and Features" will become sorted by Large Icons, and then after manually reverting to "Details" as before, the original column details selection will be different than the original "Name/Publisher/Installed On/Size/Version". Noticed it happening before on other recent AMD install packages. Reported too. <- Scratch that, solved by cleaning Shellbags (see posts bellow)

    HI ALL,
    Moving from a vega56 pulse to a 6800xt pulse.
Is it like in the old days where you use DDU to uninstall the gpu and driver and the System shutsdown? Or just swap in 6800xt ?OS is Windows 10 21h2

Fixed ,done wirh ddu and installed 22.5.1 driver ,no issues on install like my vega56 had every time driver not responding after driver install .

For the first one unistall mpc and reinstall it.
For the second one , this has nothing to do with the drivers to fix this you need to do this:
(it says fix windows 10 explorer crashing , but it fix it also the random reverting columns selection, tested by me personally)

DDU worked. Nominally the same as 22.3.1 for me then now.

for the first: Unfortunately it's not solvable with reinstalling mpc-be or hc, it'll always happen on default settings on installed/portable versions (taking care to clean previous settings) as long as Freesync is enabled on my polaris+dell monitor and non-exclusive FS is used, it's very quick to trigger on affected drivers. Doesn't happen on older drivers like 21.10.2*.
Oth, the messed vsync issue affects all driver versions (on both players) after a few seconds under Freesync +non-exclusive fulscreen, unless Flip/FlipEx is used or exclusive fullscreen is forced. On the official forums users have complained about this issue since some 19' driver release, likely monitor freesync fw related.
*edit: To add to the above, 22.2.3 beta is also ok. Lag issue seems to start from 22.3.1 whql.

for the second: Thanks will check this reg solution. And btw, the change on column order on that CP page happens during the AMD setup run, and only on recent versions. 21.10.2 setup doesn't trigger it, nor anything else that I use. I've restored folder view defaults previously via GUI without change to this behavior, as it's a recurrent solution.
edit: Cleaning shellbags related registry has sorted it, cheers! After a couple of 22.5.1 installs/uninstalls it didn't happen anymore. The trigger point was probably some explorer restart during driver changes.

I am having horrible lag or stuttering while dragging windows in Windows 10 with 22.3.1 drivers and above (including those 22.5.1 drivers). That's on Vega64 videocard.

@Kiteri this has nothing to do with video drivers. This happening with mouse >= 500 hz polling rate. It seems a problem with both windows 10 and 11. Also even with 250 hz if you have avast this problem exist.

I am having zero issues with windows dragging with 22.2.3 and below versions. I am 100% certain on this, because I keep reverting back on 22.2.3 after each new driver install since March. If it has nothing to do with drivers then it is some weird compatibility issue with my particular pc.
