      Known Issues
      • Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.
      • Connecting two displays with large differences in resolution/refresh rates may cause flickering on Radeon RX Vega series graphics products.
      • Radeon performance metrics and logging features may intermittently report extremely high and incorrect memory clock values.
      • Cyberpunk 2077™ may experience shadow corruption on Radeon RX 6000 series graphics when ray tracing is enabled.
      • Disco Elysium™ may experience texture flickering on trees with Radeon RX 6000 series graphics products.
      • Radeon Software may experience a crash when Record & Stream tab is in use and a display is hot plugged.
      • Radeon FreeSync™ may intermittently become locked while on desktop after performing task switching between extended and primary displays upon closing a game, causing poor performance or stuttering. A system restart is a potential workaround if this is experienced.
      • Performance metrics may incorrectly report temperatures on Ryzen™ 5 1600 series processors.
      • The download or launch Ryzen Master buttons in Radeon Software may intermittently disappear or may fail to initialize Ryzen Master.
      • If Ryzen Master is not detected in Adrenalin software after installation, a system restart maybe required.

    This is new over 21.4.1

Comparing the list of fixed issues but yeah.

    27.20.21002.112

    21.10.02

    And then this driver is.

    27.20.21001.10002

    21.10.01.10

Could just be a unlisted fix for the main driver.

Idea here is not really driver. But Agility DSK which moves any Windows 10 patch level between November 2019 and today into future.
It is like giving developers DirectX 9.0c SDK package at times 9.0a became available. Which would enable their game to run all DX 9.0c features even if particular OS had only DX 9.0a installed.

Basically building game around Agility SDK ensures that Game run on older version of Windows 10 which has no native support for new features will have them working.
Except that in example above, user can install newer DX. But w/o something like Agility SDK, game developer must hope that end user will update his windows to support game's advanced features.

never happened, core d3d runtimes always required the os binaries were updated in the 2k/XP days.

"like" ... "for example". You know that when you have library right next to executable, linkage gets overridden, right?
So, use of that new SDK would be like putting all DX9.0c libraries into that directory while OS has just DX9.0a installed. Nothing hard to understand about it.

SDK carries with it everything that could be missing in older Win 10 versions.

it was never permitted to ship core d3d runtimes (d3d9.dll, d3d10.dll, etc) with an application, you could bundle d3dx9_XX.dll which was an extensions library, but the system still required the core d3d9 file to support the effects you were making use of.

In fact, d3dx9 extension libraries didn't even exist until D3D9c was out

excluding d3dx extensions were jsut wrapper and tool utilities (most dependencies were relate to the ugly DXUT) not adding any new features... AgilitySDK will not solve issues about not having an updated version of DXGI or not having an updated driver model (which may be linked to shader model features and not only about DXGI features). AgilitySDK is more about running D3D12 app on more version of windows 10 instead of bringing new D3D12 features on old versions (which will be still queried most of time at startup).

Microsoft DirectX® 12 Agility SDK: this new SDK gives developers a way to light up newer DirectX 12 features than what shipped with a given Windows® OS. This means developers can enable their games to use the latest DirectX 12 features without having to worry about if they are supported by the current Windows® 10 install-base.

The DirectX 12 Agility SDK is supported by any PC with the Windows 10 November 2019 Update or later and is designed to accelerate graphics innovation for both developers and gamers, and going forward gamers can expect to see more games supporting the latest DirectX 12 features.

    It is literally explained.

This is a consideration, however the driver model hasn't really had anything to do with shader model in some time, microsoft has been shipping uplevel shader model support via experimental features without needing driver model updates for a while now.

As it happens, most driver model features for the foreseeable future will involve HDR compliance.

Yes and no, some things are related to driver model for sure, and I bet we will see more than a ROCm driver targeting a WSL dll (yes, it is coming despite AMD no will to invest really in GPGPU outside linux) in future that needs an appropriate driver model. Biggest thing of this is targeting multiple version of Windows using one/the last SDK only. But features support still need to be queried despite hardware/driver.
