Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 21.2.3 Highlights
    Support For

    • DIRT 5™ Energy Content Pack
    Fixed Issues
    • HDMI Audio Devices may fail to install on Radeon RX 400 and Radeon RX 500 series graphics products.
    • Hot plugging HDMI TV displays in multi monitor system configurations may sometimes cause a system crash or hang.
    • An application crash or hang may occur in Substance Painter™ on Radeon RX 6000 series graphics products.
    • A system crash or hang may occur on the HP Reverb G2™ when connected to Radeon RX 6900 series graphics products.
    • Radeon Software may sometimes fail to gather the latest available Radeon Software versions when performing or checking for updates.
    Known Issues
    • A system hang or crash may be experienced when upgrading Radeon Software while an Oculus™ VR headset is connected to your system on Radeon GCN graphics products. A temporary workaround is to disconnect the headset before install.
    • AMD is currently investigating end user reports that Radeon Software may sometimes have higher than expected CPU utilization, even when a system is at idle. Users who are experiencing this issue are encouraged to file a bug report in Radeon Software.
    • Brightness flickering may intermittently occur in some games or applications when Radeon™ FreeSync is enabled, and the game is set to use borderless fullscreen.
    • Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.
    Package Contents
The Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 21.2.3 installation package contains the following:

Portal 2, DirectX 9, has broken shadow rendering on 5700 XT, driver 21.2.2 on W10 20H2. Renders fine via Valve's Vulkan or DXVK Vulkan. Got confirmation it's working fine under DX9 for Turing as well.

Same on GCN. But I would not call those shadows "broken", they are gone.

I still cannot use 10 bit pixel format with freesync, it produces heavy stuttering and no game is playable.

After some more research, it seems Portal 2 DX9 shadows have been broken on AMD GPUs since 19.7.x. So ... 1.5 years now. Cool. I reported it via Bug Report Tool to AMD.

And as a fun fact, Valve's Vulkan implementation in Portal 2 is a bit more performant than DXVK 1.8 Async

DOTA 2 opens minimized under DX9 and is stuck there...performs better under DX11 than Vulkan.

I already had few times this situation:
    mem.jpg

I have overclocked my memory to 2150 but Radeon settings show that incorrectly. 2150 looks like the minimum instead of the maximum. I can't pull the slider in any directions.

    After restart everything looks fine:
    mem2.jpg

But after some time when I try to open again Radeon settings, I see the situation from the first screenshot. I'm not sure if it happens after some games. I don't use external tools for overclocking (like MSI Afterburner etc.).

AMD is known for trying to kill OGL, DX9 and DX11 applications. DX 10.1, DX12 and Vulkan is all they can do.

Good thing the industry is going in that direction.

And good thing is that hardware gets stronger, because many old games are still unplayable with radeon in 2020.:)

Got somewhat worse performance with these in RDR2(fluctuating fps, less constant than previous drivers, and looks like SAM/BAR is handicaped here). DX9 is fine again. Dx11 some good, some suck. DX12 quite good.
I just wish some in driver trigger to force GPU work 99-100% in dx9/11 titles as with dx12.

Very odd driver release...I agree, but it works! At least it doesn't introduce anything bad.

Works really fast for me with RX Vega and stable, plus yes HDMI / Displayport audio is back. I am on DP rn. Using Air boost 64 bios and some reg tweaks, but still, boost frequency seems consistently higher (even with no undervolting). I managed to play Prey without stuttering at around 120+ fps on High at 2560x1080, vsync off. Everything works, and everything is in harmony =) If anyone wants i'll send them my current tweak to try & reproduce
