Next week the Radeon RX 7900 XT and XTX launch; today we can show you some photos of the product. This post is a recap of what you can expect in the upcoming weeks' Radeon RX 7900 XT series products ... AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT and XTX unboxing
Noice. There is a lot of talk on the net about the architecture and the hardware capabilities of these cards. One thing that stands out to me is the work around built in to circumvent the inherent slowness of the PC platform. Which makes sense now but clearly its time to reinvent the PC platform. Just saying.
I'm assuming you're talking about ventilation slots on the I/O Plate. Those vents were borderline useless on anything that didn't have a blower style cooler e.g.
The cards look amazing! Hope this will be a success for AMD. Tough timing with the high inflation and general instable economy of the world though.
It's not like any industry can just stop making their things, no matter the economy. Besides, there are still plenty of wealthy people in the world. 4090 was instantly sold out when it was released. Since then there has been some stock again, but still, point was made. There have been some rumours about the limited initial quantity of the 7900 cards, so it's possible AMD will be easily able to sell everything.
Looking at these specs I compiled, this 7900XTX should beat the crap out of 4080 in raw raster performance... assuming equal shader processor performance... although ray-tracing performance unknown... and if it sells for that price Code: 7900 XTX vs RTX 4080 Architecture: 5nm vs 4nm Shader Processors 12288 vs 9728 Memory 24GB G6 vs 16GB GDDR6X Memory Bus 384-bit vs 256-bit Memory Speed 20 Gbps vs ? Gbps Infinity Cache 96 MB vs 64 MB (L2 cache) Bandwidth 960 GB/s vs 716.8 GB/s TBP 355W vs 320W Pixel Rate ? GPixel/s vs 280.6 GPixel/s Texture Rate ? GTexel/s vs 761.5 GTexel/s Price ~€1200 (assuming 1:1 with dollar + 20% VAT) vs €1500
Great cards, I dun see RGB junk, 2 slot, HDMI 2.1b love it for 4K VRR performance... Cannot wait to see how it stacks up against 4080 RTX.
960GB/s of memory bandwidth and 5.3TB/s MCM bandwidth??? How is this bottlenecked by memory? If anything AMD normally bottleneck their cards by forcing hard power and OC limits like they did with the 6000 series only being able to push memory from 2000MHz to 2150MHz, unless this is what you mean and therefore we more than likely won't be able to push the memory any further. But 960GB/s should be plenty.
Relax... its a guess from this article - I just did a 1:1 conversion. I'm sure it will be more in EU. "Radeon RX 7900 XTX will have 24GB of GDDR6 VRAM and the complete 12,288 shader cores, it will probably get close to the RTX 4090 thanks to its infinity cache as well. As mentioned AV1 en/decode is present. TBP is 355 Watt, and this card will cost $999 with availability on December 13th, just before Christmas. And that about sums it up for the info we can share."
Shouldn't the back plate be vented or perfurated to allow the card to breathe better??? Anyway, looking forward for the review.
