I still have high hopes for decent prices and in-stock availability of everything.

Are nvidia cards more in demand or they just lost their minds? None of their cards are worth it. If i ware in market for a gpu right now amd is the only option in low-midrange.

High end out of the way (who buys high end when next gen around the corner) 3060ti is the only nvidia card if you can find one below 500eur.

    3050/3060/3070 all overpriced still.

6600 and 6600xt are 280 and 320Eur respectively. Even 3050 costs more than that lol

If you can wait don't buy any card, let them bleed. :D
Seriously, despite the fact that I don't need a new card, I could buy a RX 6600 for a good price, even so, I keep remembering of PCIE x8 stuf (there is no excuse for this IMO).
It's so hard to buy a new card these days. :(

Pcie4 x8 wont be an issue. You can go for it.

yeah but as far as what you said about buying cards,it's actually 6600/6600xt vs 3060ti atm. so it's a stalemate on both sides.

Yeah, for my main rig. But I wanna be able to use it on a PCIE 3.0 system in the future without losing any performance.

Don't buy 8GB cards, especially not from AMD with limited PCIe bandwidth AND worse driver VRAM management vs. Nvidia at the same time.
At least it is not worth more than 200€ and RDNA2 will soon be very outdated in terms of hardware features.

The sad thing is that calling me a fanboy has blinded you to the fact that AMD has knowingly opted not to put hardware features that Nvidia has for two gens. Then sold these to the uneducated and uninformed.

Articles like this come out and you dont understand the reason? Clear as day to me! Very simple to understand:

AMD is behind. FSR2 sucks. Their RT sucks. Their OpenGL remains a joke. VR sucks on AMD. You all got played.

Call me a fanboy all you want, then I get to laugh at you in 5 years when AMD has the better card, and I own that.

    Pathetic children on these boards.

There are multiple tests by e.g. PCGH & CB that show issues with 8GB Radeons with VRAM pressures that 8GB Turing cards (PCIe 3.0 16, so same bandwidth as 4.0 8x) don't have or have to a lesser extent.
Btw. did this tingle your fanboy senses by suspecting an evil plot against AMD, or why the rude reaction? lol

I'd have a 6800 if the prices were more reasonable...

    children, play nice.

AMD is not isolated from the market or trends. while they had better sales when Nvidia first experienced a glut you can write that down to simply being a better deal. especially for the 6900xt/6800xt

now the vast majority of the enthusiast market is in two camps within 90 days of launch:
    1) already possessing what they need
    or
    2) fence-sitting for the next gen.

there's a marginal market for folks like myself and some of you - the hyper enthusiast (not to be confused or conflated with Fanboy).
we have a very wide Venn diagram as many of us are not terribly interested in buying halo products, but do buy generational products.

what i'm saying is just as true for Nvidia and Intel

it is no terrible surprise that any specialized PC product sale have dropped when gpu and cpu makers have a generational launch all basically at the same time (from a sales perspective that is one quarter of the year).

and no one is "bad" because of it.

It is very likely that those cards are not as performing as the name would have you believe, be careful if you have to buy them ....

No, it was a genuine question. I had never heard of this. I would like a link to read up on this.

Maybe check my GPU in my profile before to blast people for being fanboys.

With inflated prices still being around even with 50% drops in prices (remember that the gtx 1080 ti was 650 when it launched and was the halo product!), why would anyone choose an AMD card vs a similarly priced Nvidia offerering? The price to performance is similar but with Nvidia you get much better Ray tracing performance and DLSS which is a game changer in itself!
