    Pass the innovation please.......

Well I guess this is how they plan to get rid of the excess inventory.

I highly doubt that the Pitcairn GPU will be the R9 370 chip.
    R9-370/X current 280/280X
    R9-380/X current R9-290/290X
    R9-390/X New cards

It would be silly to have such a large jump from the R9-370 to the R9-370X/R9-380, if it were Pitcairn.

    We shall see.

AMD is really taking rebadging to the extreme.
No wonder they lose market share.

I wonder when they release a new flagship card that way...

if they price them well that wont be a problem. The nice thing about AMD that it has already pushed nvidia to talk about Pascal ...that has stopped me from getting the 12 GB monster

What bothers me is that i have a 2x 7950 Sapphire boost and cannot use VSR downscaling as its disabled.

The rebrand of that card is the 280x if iam correct and now they are going to do another rebrand of the 280x ???.....

They promised they would enable this in the next drivers but they now said nope not going to happen.

    They are realy destroying themselves....
Last card i bought from Ati thats for sure.

Realy disapointed with Ati as i wanted to stay with team red, but not with this crap they are pulling off -_-

So, what is the plan? Let Intel and NV lead while AMD provides cheapest possible CPU/GPU units?

AMD marketing people, here's a freebie idea for a promotion:
!!! Take 3 AMD GPUs for the price of 1 NV relevant unit !!!

PS. Proper drivers/CF profiles may be available in the next quarter, eventually.

Sad to admit this but i am in the same boat :(

Last time i had an Nvidia GPU was a decade ago and it broke down 2 weeks after the warranty expired xD

But i refuse to upgrade to a 3trd rebrand and the VSR downscale drivers we should have unlocked for our cards make this alot easier.

Will wait for a pricedrop when the 300 series come out and buy the 980 or the 980Ti.

    Horrible marketing for Ati :bang:

Didnt we have a chart where the 380X was competing with the 980?

    everyone do the same...
NVidia as an exemple : 650 => 740 or GTX680 => GTX770 and on the 1st R serie only the 290(X) where new, other where rebranded HD7*** GPU

the hardware from AMD is clearly inovative but their drivers... what a piece of crap... this is why they are totaly inexistant in Pro market despite a lot of product and anouncement.

if they invest more in driver development then people would buy more, but not only because they are poor or AMDfan.

A leaked rumor chart. Probably off the same chart where they got mostly everything about Titan X wrong.

That being said didn't the GCN 1.1 improvements come to the rebranded 2xx cards? How do we know the GCN 1.3 ones won't come to 3xx rebrands?

Have you ever used Nvidia on Linux? It is a pain in the ass to properly get full hardware acceleration in Linux with an Nvidia card, where as Fire GL cards are amazing under Linux.

Haha, thinking the same thing when every nvidia card is described as having 512mb less of vram.

So I'm still not aware of how this will behave... when is it a rebadge? Only if it's exactly the same card? Or does it make things a rebadge even if it's the same chip with say +100MHz core?

Because to me it looks like everything besides the 390/390X has already been around, thus making it old news.

It could be the same as with the R9 280X, basically a 7970 Ghz Edition GPU die with a updated PCB and some smaller tweaks (And slightly higher clock speeds.) like ensuring FreeSync compatibility (Or so I've read.), some tweaks but it's still the same GPU chip base or what to call it so it can even be used in Crossfire with the 7970.
(Speaking of smaller tweaks I am unsure if it has the hardware scaler that AMD seems to rely on for VSR as well, probably will require a different implementation so I guess not.)

Only thing I'm going to say is Nvidia did huge rebrands with the G80 and G92, and they still sold a ton of those.
