Ahhhh seconds before me!
And nice results:
stock clocks and fan speeds
85'C in heaven on stock cooler
55'C in heaven on MK-26 cooler
Overclocked at 1200 Core + 1.4V
stock cooler at 85'c with 100% fan speed
MK-26 cooler at 72'C with silent fans.
Edit: ninja'd by AvengerUK
Yeah looks very good that
Will destroy a 770 if it's priced in that bracket as the 290 should trade blows with the current 780.
Drool worthy performance and pricing both. I don't mind the stock dba at all, but I would prefer to keep my GPU under 85C on avg. The question is, raise the fan speed and get a truly "noisy" GPU or shell out some extra cash for a custom cooler? Considering how much cheaper it is then the competition (currently) I think the custom cooler is a no brainer for anyone that can wait an extra month or two. :nerd:
oh wow, now that sounds promising, I want to see them bench a whole bunch of games with that cooler. This gives me hope that the custom 290/x will run just fine. yay.
This makes me do this:
£551.98 inc VAT (fans not included) http://bit.ly/HjIvF8
Indeed.. these things are looking mighty appealing tbh indeed.. o,O
GTX 780 performance for the price of 349 € (if eclap was right ).
Yeah. People will just end up buying 290 lol.
Now now Elder... you're gonna drool our forum full! lol
Tbh.. Still thinking if I should get a 2nd 7950 or a 290.
These badboys would be running at 1200/1700 each (11500 gfx score in 3dmark11), so I don't know how that would turn out.. o,O
The MK 26 is a dam good heat sink. I have used it on a few GPUs in the past. It's on par with the Arctic Cooling coolers, but cheaper.
I almost pulled the trigger on that 290x. then I gave myself a slap and convinced myself that it's best to wait
Damn.. nice PhazeDelta.. o,O Definitely taken into note that information. I'll remember it when the time comes for it in the future.
lol!!!! eclap you funny sod. rofl
I'm pretty sure I'll get one just to play with it, it's about that time of year. Early christmas me thinks.
Hehe nice Ice..
So custom it is, yeah it changes everything.. Makes you wonder wth were AMD thinking with that stock cooler.
I guess they cut corners as best the could to offer such competitive pricing. If I can manage to get one once they come back in stock I'll probably go the custom cooling route. Otherwise who knows, non reference models might show up soon.
haha lol indeed.. It's just horrible lol. Guess they needed something fast or random to slap on it.
I was also like :3eyes: when I saw that 95C, I was like wuttt? XD rofl
^ This..nobody really buys the reference models with the crappy coolers do they? :mad2:
It's probably still the most potent crappy reference cooler ATi/AMD have ever used for a single GPU.
