Is it 2048 or 1792 stream processors or is it still unconfirmed?

285Pro is 1792, 285XT should be 2048. We should know more tomorrow.

    AMD's naming scheme ... man!

    So the R9 285 will be slower than a 280X ...

Its the 280 replacement, the 280X replacement, is the 285X.

This is what I have been waiting for, good performance with acceptable power draw.

If you wanted good performance with acceptable power draw you have been able to get it since the GTX 600 series AMD is just super late on this.

Yeah, it's only now that I've needed to get a new card though really. Just so happens that this has rocked up at the right time :).

not a fan of the new naming amd is using it can be confusing for people that dont closely follow hardware.

This card is horrible. Seriously, the 7950 was going for $180 during its lifetime. This card launches with less ram, 256bit at $250.

    It is hilariously bad.

They added amd audio and that new crossfire thing, freesync i believe as well? But still price is ridiculous , it could be a fine mid range choice if around 180 dollars or so.
