Damn that's nice. They did seem to wait a bit long before releasing it though. Something I find interesting though is that my two cards when overclocked gives more performance than the 7990 stock. I even get a better 3Dmark11 P score with a weaker processor at the same clock, being 15,753. That 7990 should blow past my two cards though once that overclock issue is sorted out.

gtx 690 is dual gpu and it loses to hd 7990 in most tests. Titan just gets destroyed, of course.

I've got 7970s running at 1050 so I guess I was just wanting more clocks at stock from this. They seem to have oc'ed it to only 1100 also, was that the artifact limit because it seems low compared to a lot of 925 original cards oc limits. I guess I wanted to swap my 7970s for one of these with the hope of picking up another for under £600 a few months down the line but the reality is I can get better performance out of my cards and might as well pick up a third 7970 at some point if a specific game deserves it.

True. Titan is overpriced for what it is, and should've been the 680, not the 680 we have.

Ofc. If pricing can be competitive, hopefully AMD will be on to a winner here.

The only thing I was missing in this review was a comparison with 2 hd7970's in crossfire (in the FPS benchmarks, power consumption and frame times) and maybe 2 GTX Titans in SLI.
    But overall, great review!

As mentioned above by another member I would love to see it against 2 7970GE/7950BE and 680/670SLi but
that would defeat its purpose and also nothing stopping us from going into a previous article for some comparisons.

On a side note, 7990's are for sale currently for 815-850euros while a 690 goes for 875euros.

Great card, the new king of the hill!

Personally i would prefer buying two 7970 or two 680 but that´s me.

For those who want to laugh a little, know that the 690 and the 7990 cost around 950€ here in Portugal...

Nothing wrong with the price, if Nvidia can get that much for the 690, then why shouldn't AMD get around the same for their 7990.

U should read other reviews also;if u prefer high latency and micro-stuttering,then Radeon 7990 is u card. Many of us prefer smooth gameplay.

Maybe those that used fraps as ms tool, which isnt a real stutter indicator.

That doesn't have anything to do with anything. The market price has been set with the 690, a comparable card. The only reason they would set a lower price would be to drive sales (take away market share from the 690). With all the games included, there is no reason on their part to do that.

Almost ALL Hardware site use FCAT,and where did I said something about Fraps as a ms tool?
I just told him to read also other reviews so he can`t see that the Radeon 7990 is not as good as he said.

You need to try reading other reviews yourself, such as this one from pcper.

    http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/Frame-Rating-AMD-Improves-CrossFire-Prototype-Driver

The new prototype drivers make serious headway with latency and micro-stutter. They may not be out yet for the general public, but they are there as shown by PC perspective tests.

"Here also a run with the 13.5 Beta 2 prototype driver with Frame pacing. Unfortunately the resutls are not yet in AMD's favor here."
    Pcper:

    "Final Thoughts
I knew this review was going to turn out like this after publishing our faux-HD 7990 performance results last month. With its performance completely dependent on CrossFire technology, the HD 7990 as a $1000 graphics card has a very hard time justifying its price. With our early testing of the Catalyst prototype driver showing positive results though, there is yet hope for CrossFire to be fixed in this generation, at least for single monitor users! But until that driver is perfected, is bug free and is presented to buyers as a made-for-primetime solution, I just cannot recommend an investment this large on the Radeon HD 7990."

Nice horsepower, too expensive to take a chance with crossfire though.

Power Consumption. Needs another 6 pin. Not enough power to let her fly. Shame.
