Lack of time of my side so just now installed these on my younger kid's gaming rig running R9 270X, he'll test these 16.1 Hotfix over the weekend in CG:GO, ARC: Survival Evolved, Nether: Resurrected, GTA V, World of Tanks, Payday 2... and see how the're running. I just did a few hours of test loop in Unigine Heaven & Valley, haven't noticed anything unusual.

AFAIK it's DX11. IMO this Tomb Raider looks barely any better than the last one, so I'm amazed to find it so badly broken on release day.

Yes it's an Nvidia game now. AMD seem to have put their hands on a chair knuckle side down and sat on their hands lately. Nvidia however have been very busy making sure they are "in there" with the devs and thus, their name is all over the latest games.

I really don't understand why AMD have been so lapse with getting in there with game devs lately as their branded games always worked so much better than the tripe with Nvidia on.

It doesn't use TressFX it uses "PureFX" which apparently is the same thing only better.

Sadly I have yet to find out how good it is because the game runs like turd for me with two Fury X @ 4k so I am waiting on a fix/driver update. I did try it maxed out on one card but it was a slide show.

Have it enabled on both AMD GPU rigs of mine.

It really has made a difference.
    Especially with my Crossfire setup.

With 16.1 on 7870 Radeon app doesn't save the settings, so I must use 15.12 which works great. Only hoping that 16.1.1 will fix this issue because they have TR optimizations ;)

Maybe monday but in a way Im glad that they didn't rush it up but instead take some time to optimize and fix the issues that cap the performance so bad in this game. We can wait some little more time right? Is a good patience exercise :)

I'm really considering to switch to Nvidia for my next gaming rig.
AMD is always late. I'm also having some problems and crashes with some old games on my 290X because of the new crimson driver and they are not optimized anymore...
they couldn't even keep this game for themselves. while the previous Tomb Raider was an AMD game.

+1 My R9 Fury can't use " crimson driver " tested on Win 8 & Win 10 X64 pro ( for both ) , artifacts , sutter in game , frame drops , i'm stuck with 15.11.1 with a 575e Card since november 2015 ..." AMD is always late " 100% real i'm tired to late 1-2 months for a stable driver . My next card will be Nvidia .

If your card really artifacts at its factory configuration, I urge you to return the card.

me too with crimson 15.11 or 15.12 in games like Witcher 3 or Shadows mordor... but this is a crimson's bug resolve with 16.1, about frame drops disable vsync or increase frame limit. my next card will be nvidia too... r9 fury is a hell

You guys either have defective cards or don't know how to play at playable settings or there is something seriously messed up with your system.
