You should do the upgrade and then install the driver, because following the update several aspects of the driver will no longer work and require a reinstall anyway (usually vulkan and opencl)

Hmm, just as I thought. You got a couple things going on causing that stutter. I can walk you through Step 1 for now.

The 1st one is to disable gamebarpresencewriter.exe by renaming it. However, you have to take ownership in order to do so because it's part of the OS. Bare in mind It's not associated with Gamebar or Game Mode.

-Type Your Info in win10 search box
-Write down the name you gave your version of win10 when you installed it
    -Go To windows/system32/gamebarpresencewriter.exe
-Right click on it and select properties
    -Select Security Tab
    -Select Advance
    -Owner: TrustedInstaller Change <----Select Change
-Enter the object name to Select (examples)
...................."Use the name you used for win10"
-Check Name to make sure win10 Identifies it.
....................Caution: If you don't have a local account this will not work as you tied in to Microsoft which demotes you from admin to just a "user" access level, etc.
    -OK
-OK again for the "Advanced Security Settings for GameBarPresenceWriter.exe
    -Select Edit for GameBarPresenceWriter.exe Properties
    -Add
-Again add the name you used for win10
    -Check Name then Ok
-OK again if another popup screen comes up
-Highlight your name under Permissions For GameBarPresenceWriter.exe and below select Full Control.
    -Apply
-Ok...ok again to exit out as needed.
(if you want you can restore Owner back to Trusted Installer by using NT Service\TrustedInstaller)

That's pretty much it. Now you can just go back to windows/system32/gamebarpresencewriter.exe and rename it to GamebarPresenceWriter_old.exe.
    Then Reboot the PC.

That was Step 1. The other is to disable ASLR/CFG's that also cause stutter but that's enough for now.
You should notice a marked improvement in smoothness when you Irace.

Seems you have different driver installed. Yours is from January 30th with different build number than 20.5.1

    Correct 20.5.1 driver:

Videos are to bright on RX580 while using same color space and settings like with previos drivers, so don’t know what is happening there, switching back to 20.3.1 issue is fixed.

Also AMD Link app for iPhone is not fixed still want connect, tried all the settings with disabled Windows firewall and nothing. AMD mentioned something about amd link in release notes so I was just hopping that they got it sorted.

I am running an older version of AMD Radeon driver software 19.20. It seems that Windows Update installed some AMD Radeon files.

    I wonder why?

I'm fine with this drivers, no issues at all
And now i'm free of black screens, interesting thing is that nothing has changed completely but maybe some windows updates contributed to this i dont know but they are just gone

Did the Upgrade to 2004, was done in like 30 mins without any problems.
Windows update showed the Information about the upcoming version but said my computer is not ready for it, so i manually downloaded the update tool

Also no problem with 20.5.1 & Vega 56 so far, in the few games tested no performance difference to 1909

After performing some troubleshooting, it appears that while updating to Win x64 Version 2004, the AMD settings manager was removed from the Windows installation.
I uninstalled the recently installed Windows update AMD setting manager, re-installed the same version of the AMD display driver over the existing installation V19.6.3.
During the re-install, I had to remove the option to install the HDMI audio driver or the installation would end indicating failure due to that package not installing. That was caused by a newer HDMI audio driver version already being installed.
Everything is working correctly after I performed these steps.
I was experiencing severe pauses in game play due to the Windows installation of the "AMD Radeon Settings".

You might be asking why I am running an older version of AMD Adrenalin driver? It is the last version that allows MSI Afterburner to work correctly with my GPU and my current hardware.
Any other AMD Adrenalin driver causes Wattman to freeze the screen and indicate that the settings had to be reset due to an unexpected error? I'm not even using Wattman so there is some driver from Wattman that is conflicting with the MSI Afterburner drivers. I have tried updating a number of times to a newer versions but have never been able to resolve the issue. If anyone knows what is causing this and what the resolution is, I would appreciate either a reply to this thread or send me a PM with the information.

So I just had the first black screen on VEGA64 after upgrading to 2004/19041 and 20.5.1.... Back to my dirty workaround it seems (P1 state as minimum).....
    Ehhhh.....
