AMD announced details about the processor that Microsoft is inserting into the 15"version of its Surface Laptop 3. It is the Ryzen 7 3780U, which is based on the Zen+ (not ZEN2) architecture and... AMD Proc in Surface Laptop is Ryzen 7 3780U with Zen+ scores and Vega 11 gpu
I noticed these up on PCworld.co.uk but the prices are far far higher, min £1466 and going upto £1699 all with just a 256GB SSD.
I initially bought the 15" AMD Surface but now I think I'm going to return it. At first Microsoft made it sound like there wouldn't be a 15" Intel variant but there is through the business store. I don't really see what having the AMD processor gets you - preliminary benchmarks show about a 15-20% GPU improvement over the i7 but it's still significantly slower than MX250 which can barely play any games at 1080p. Presumably battery will be better with the Intel + it has Intel NIC Gen 6 WIFI. Seems like a really weird choice by Microsoft.
now is this really a "laptop" or just tablet like all the surfaces are with an actual keyboard? tablet trying to be sold as laptop is what I seeing? or am i wrong.
